How do you turn the subtitles off on DVD in gbpvr? The I've selected no subtitles from the DVD menu but they are still on there. I've tried CNTL-Y with no luck. Suggestions?

For DVD playback it was either Ctrl-Y or Ctrl-G, I cant remember which. (only really tested with the default 'DVD Navigator' though)

I'm using the default DVD player so that's good. Tried CNRL-Y and G and although it takes teh french subtitles off the english are still playing. Going to try a diff. dvd and see if I'm still getting the same thing.

No go - doing the same thing on another DVD. The strange thing is I if I turn the subtitles on using cntrl - y it turns a second set on in the background with some standard english text playing in the foreground.

Maybe worth reproducing the problem, then posting the pvrx2.exe-native.log, and we'll see if anything stands out.

I'm pretty sure the problem has to do with PowerDVD being installed. I started thinking about this and I had a similar problem with PowerDVD a few yrs ago. I started looking around on the net and have found a lot of posts with the same issue. No real solution on how to fix it though. The bad thing is I bought this drive a few yrs ago and I'm on version 5 of PowerDVD and version 9 is out.

You're currently using the Nero DVD decoder. If you change to a different decoder, does the problem go away?

I had it on default before and changed it to Nero thinking my default was probably powerdvd seeming that is what my default DVD player is. Switched it to powerdvd as the default and the subtitles went away. I guess the default must have been Nero..... thanks for the suggestion I should have taken the time to go through all those earlier.

Remember - if you have Vista/win7, menus and subtitles only working in not DXVA mode, so if you have installed any DXVA capable decoder, you need to turn off DXVA (no problem on WinXP).
My recomendation is use FFDShow for DVD - or try SAF, it will install and configure all decoders automatically (link below).
