When I try to play some Commercial (Disney) DVD with GB-PVR all I get is a black screen. I can play some DVD I burnt. I have not tried alot of different DVDs.
I have VMR9 for play back, under DVD everything is set to Default.
Is there something I need to change? Or is there a way to play these movies?

If they're DVDs for different regions, it could cause problems like this.

DVD's are all from region 1. Any other idea on what I might have screwed up on?

No.

There is some disney disks with DRM that cause problems when played in PCs. Maybe its related to this?

If someone want to send me one of these DVDs, I'll take a look.

i can probably see if i can make a copy of one and send it to you, would have to be a dvd+9r.

or i could send you an iso.

hmm would that be illegal?

or i could tell you which ones dont work, and you could rent them (id send you some cash for the rental fee).

Ok I am even more confused. I can not play a Disney Movie but after I made a backup copy with DVD Shrink it would play in GB-PVR fine.
So far I have not found a bought movie that will play. But all burned movie do.
When I try to play one movie It sayes "This player is incompatible with the region marking of this disk"
So it sound like I have the wrong player for my are USA. Any idea on what I nned to change?

If you are using PowerDVD or some other DVD player that installed, you may have to set the specific region for the disc you are trying to play. As far as the "backup" working, that would be b/c DVD Shrink takes ALL the protection out of it as well as the region restrictions.

I have no sound when I play a DVD though gb-pvr either, I have tried changing the audio codecs, but that makes no difference.

Interesting NOTE: If I play the same DVD though MythTV it works fine!
