Trouble with sound

I am assuming you have two hdmi stream one to the TV and one to your PC. Do you get sound on the PC if you configure things normally with all defaults?

my pc is my tv. so to answer your question, i have one hdmi. i get sound with everything, except for when i am in nextpvr.

what do you mean? I am using normal hdmi out. Unless i dont know what the heck im talking about? which is possible. could you elaborate on this?

Is there a different decoder that you can try for AC3 Audio? You may also want to look at the LAV Audio Decoder settings. I guess I'm not sure what formats your TV supports, but you may want to check the Audio Settings tab for the decoder. Also, take a look at the Formats tab to see if the AC3 checkbox is checked. Could maybe play with the Mixing tab to see if you can get some kind of results.

If tuner is PVR-150, I believe audio input is MPEG1. Audio decoder probably needs to output 16-bit PCM 48kHz. [Edit] On Settings->Decoders, just to the right of MPEG1 Audio dropdown is a button to access decoder properties.

If your pc screen is the TV, it is meaningless to use HDMI sound, unless your monitor has built-in speakers and can handle hdmi audio. I also use the pc as tv, but the sound comes from the speakers attached to the pc soundcard. Is your setup similar?

Was there anything in the log files? I wish I can be of more help on this. I will try these suggestions after work today. But in the mean time, to answer reddwarf's question, My pc screen is my TV that has built in speakers and can handle hdmi audio. Like I said in other posts on this same thread, sound is working with everything else. For example, if i play a video in vlc player, it will work. if i go to internet and go to youtube, it will work. if i go to internet and go to spotify, it will work. Sound will not work with nextpvr

Zeb, do i use lav decoder settings or ffdshow decoder settings for that?
