After upgrading to 4.2.1 all channels are gone from my channel groups, is this a natural consequence or a bug?

I just updated my server about 2 hours ago - no issues with groups for me.

I'm not aware of any issue with that, and haven't seen any reports of others with this problem.

Are you sure you have deleted channels and rescanned at some stage? If so, these channels wouldn't be in any groups.

I have noticed that (sometimes) after deleting a few channels (US channel/frequency re-packing reasons) from a device that were included in a specific group, that the group list would be missing certain channels that were NOT deleted.

I found this kind of odd, but no big deal, not worthy of reporting - I just rebuilt the group list.

I have rescanned to update channel frequencies but not deleted any channels or devices. Perhaps it is the same phenomena as 2leftfeet describes.

If either of you want to try reproducing it, and can see steps that are doing it - I'll help you look into it.

To further clarify my situation, the channels that would disappear from a grouped list were only those channels that were merged from a combination of OTA and cablecard devices - merged HDHR Prime and HDHR Connects. Channels not merged (edit: across devices) would be persistent in the group listing.

The next time this happens, I will record the steps I took and report back.

For me the channels were all merged across 5 dvb-s devices, which ll my channels are. I had one group for tv channels and one group for radio channels. After rescan (I think) only the group dvn-s channels had contents.

OK sub, this happened to me yesterday. The steps are quite straight forward ----

I have 3 devices - 1 HDHR Prime, 1 HDHR4-2US and 1 HDHR5-4US, each capable of receiving stations from RF ch9.

3 subchannels on ch9 are included in my favorites group. these subchannels are merged across all 3 devices identified above.

For whatever reason the HDHR5-4US was losing lock on ch9, so I removed the ch9 subchannels affected from that device only.

After removing the channels from only from the HDHR5, I noticed that the 3 subchannels were missing from the favorites group, even though those subchannels were not removed from the other two devices. All three subchannels were still in the "all channels" listing, but no longer in the favorites group.

I then re-added those 3 subchannels back into the favorites group and now all is working as before.

This is not a big deal. It does happen often enough though that whenever I add/remove channels from a device, I check the favorites group to verify if it has or hasn't been altered.
