That helped a lot....thanks Martin....so, to be clear....I cannot copy the channels from the other tuner???...I have to run a scan on this device on both tuners?

Tom

I believe that what Martin was saying is:

When you originally set it up, you scanned on only one of the tuners in NextPVR and then for each of the other 5, you just accepted the option to "copy the configuration". But you're 2 HDHR devices don't have the same tuning settings, so copying the configuration from a tuner on one doesn't work on a tuner on the other.

First, always remember to make a backup copy of your npvr.db database file! (And probably back it up after each step in this process.)
Second, delete the 2nd HDHR tuners (with the bad configurations).
Do a scan on the first tuner in that 2nd HDHR device.
This will result in you having 2 sets of channels for each channel (1 on the 4 tuner HDHR and 1 on the 2 tuner HDHR).
Then, for the second tuner in that 2nd HDHR device, you should be able to accept the "copy the configuration" option because it should have preference to copy from another tuner on the same device over copying from a tuner on a different HDHR device. (Note: If I recall correctly, early in NextPVR v5, it didn't do that and would copy from the first HDHR type device it found. But that situation was fixed. But it's not something that people do often, so it's possible it won't work properly. Try it and see.)
Once you've verified that the channel settings are working OK on all 6 tuners, you can do an auto-merge of the channels to get them back to 1 set of channels on 6 tuners.

Well, it almost worked....when I selected auto merge...I lost one channel....I think I will just start over and maybe not even use the legacy tuner.

Maybe a dumb question here, but what is the difference between the tuners that show Silicondust Hdhomerun tuner.....and just Hdhomerun....which one should I use? Is one faster or better?

They're the same device, but they provide two different ways to access them. The devices with type "HDHR", use the HDHomeRun proprietary tuning protocol. The devices with the type 'ATSC' and 'QAM' are using Microsoft's BDA drivers. They're both pretty similar. I'd probably suggest just going with the HDHR ones, which are little more efficent on network communications.

I think you would need to use BDA drivers if you want to be able to record multiple sub channels.

I had considered that, but given he's got like six tuners, I don't think that is a major problem.

A couple of other differences:
1. The ATSC/QAM ones using the BDA drivers can utilize NextPVR's multi-record capability to record multiple channels on the same frequency/channel with a single tuner.
2. The BDA drivers use UDP network transport while the HDHR devices use TCP network transport.
