Because most of the features offered by the nexus card arent things thats are available in the BDA spec so you'd end up with a card that only supports a few of its features when running BDA drivers. Also, hauppauge pretty much abandoned this DVB chipset and have instead moved to a conexant reference design for new DVB products.
ummm...why couldn't software mode support be added??? The newer dvb app DVBTV just added software support for the nexus... he got the SDK, looked it over, and had support added within 48 hours....He basically said software support was simple...it was hardware support that was complicated. I have the latest 2.19 SDK for premium cards if the author would like to just look it over....

because I dont wont to write explicit support for this device. Its just not worth the effort, and the on going time I would have to spend supporting it. By implementing BDA support I was able make most DVB cards usable in one go. Every day more and more devices get BDA drivers.
For those with DVB cards without BDA drivers, GB-PVR isnt the app for them. Sorry.
I did have a Nexus card, but I never took it out of its box in the year or so I owned it. Recently I sold it.
