One important thing to note, is that Hauppauge dont use standard Directshow tuning APIs in their WinTV app, so their tuning doesnt not behave the same as other apps.
Quote:Is there any sense in trying to fine tune the frequency for a channel by hand to try and get audio working? You could try, it might help. I think I've seen other comments indicating it helped to slightly off-tune the frequency.
Quote:-FreqCopy copies them here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTuneYes, it does copy them there, but from memory it often copies them to the wrong place under that key. I cant remember the exact details. Because the WinTV app initialises the tuner a different way, simply having the same frequencies as used by WinTV may not help.
Quote:-GB-PVR doesn't seem to use these values anymore. (confirm, anyone?)I dont read any values from registry settings or anything like that. I just use standard Microsoft APIs to change channels, behind the scenes it reads certain registry settings if they exist for that combination of country and tuning (cable/antenna). This is why freqcopy putting them in the wrong place means they're often not used.
Quote:-Is that the only way to force GB-PVR to use a different frequency? You can either create the correct registry settings, or enter the frequency in place of the channel number in the capture source channel list.
