What I learned tonight about the tuning problem:

1) It's on two channels
2) On a hunch, I go back a version on the 150 drivers (I had newest in). No blasting static audio, just no audio. The newer drivers have worse tuners
3) Tuning in WinTv helps, but I only noticed tonight it at best gets a very soft volume

The bottom line is that it seems I can't get the sensitivity of the tuning to GB, but the real problem is the 150 card (whatever rev I have).

On the bright side, I did realize the prev drivers do look better. Not sure if there's anything that can be done. I could complain and try to get a new rev caerd, but then I'd be out the card during the shipping. The channels aren't too imporant. I guess I'll live w/ it, hope new dirvers or a firmware update can fix, and at worst, get a new one and ebay this one.

Forgot to write it down - I'll take a peek tonight and post it to this thread.

Of interest - the driver cd that came with the new (working) card is a differnt color than the other one. The old card's cd was a dull great color, looked almost like it had been scanned and pronted on a label. Wouldn't surprise me if stupid staples was selling refurb cards as new.

The system works pretty nicely now that the hardware is sorted out though. There are just a few minor things I'd like to see added to GBPVR that would be easy to implement.. stuff for another post.

Oh, since my card does seem to worthy of adding to your issues list, sub (same as the other poster):

Hi Sub,

Sorry for this delayed reply to your request.

I too have the following PVR150:
26032
Rev c199

I'm a Canadian Cable subscriber.

You may also find this following tidbit helpful during your discussions ... I've managed to MANUALLY tweak the tuning for Channel 13 using REGEDIT. I started with the nearest channel's DECIMAL value, and then gradually added increments until I reached a value that received audio. This may be common knowledge (thou was new to me) but the only folder that I need to adjust values for was the following ...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TV System Services\TVAutoTune\TS0-1

TS0-0, TS1-0 and TS1-1 have absolutely NO effect when I use GB-PVR.

However, here's another snag ... The channel was working fine (though I had to sacrifice some image quality in order to obtain sound reception), but then the sound disappeared a few days ago, and I had to bump the decimal values up a bit from 212650000 to 212690000.

It should be noted that ALL of my subscribed television stations look and sound 100% through our regular television and VCR cable connections. I've even tested the TV cable in my home office with a regular television, and the reception is just fine. But there's something about the previously mentioned channel range on this particular WinTV-PVR-150.

Thanks for your patience and help!

Yeah, so I'm in the same boat with this missing audio. I'm on my third PVR-150 and though the first two were off on virtually the exact same channels, the third one seems better in that i have most of them but there are a few (that i know of so far) that are still missing audio. Everytime i return a card for a new one I end up with the same rev:
NTSC-M/NTSC-J
26032
C199
on the reverse side...
94V then 05-15 don't know what that is but its also always the same.
I hear most people with pvr-250s don't have this issue so that maybe my next move. As with the others I can tune the channels in with wintv2000 (and that was necessary) but nothing to be done in gb-pvr as sub has said before.

Does the registry tweak really work?

IIRC, the different registry folders are used for different systems (don't remember which is which). For example, if you have chosen the "antenna" setting in gbpvr, Windows will look in TS0-0 for overrides to the default values, but if you have chosen "cable", it will look in TS0-1 (or perhaps it's the other way around).

It probably does, but you'll have to fiddle around quite a bit to find the exact frequencies. You might also get it to work in the same manner and with the same effect if you were to enter the frequencies directly in the config app (instead of the channel numbers). But you would need to know which frequency to start trying on. Plus, CrashTestDummy reported that he has to change that frequency setting once in a while.
