I have Changed the direct.ini to correspond to the names given by the oem intervideo win dvr3 software - yet I still can't get it to work

Now that you've changed this, zip and attach the logs again and I'll see if lists another error its encountering.

i recorded something quickly and copied all the logs
i have also included the diagnostic from intervideo windvr3 program

It still says:

11:54:01.987 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: Adaptec PCI TvTuner
11:54:01.987 ERROR Failed to find TvTuner filter

...so my last comment still stands as the reason its not working.
