DVD Playback bug

Not sure if I am the only one but I'm having a strange problem where if I play a DVD, hit the menu button on my remote (which takes me back to the main menu ), and then select DVD again, I get audio but no video. I'm using the Cyberlink Audio and Video decoders.

Also, and this may not be a bug, none of my remote control buttons seem to be associated to DVD functions (i.e. pressing Menu doesn't bring me to the DVD menu, Skip doesn't skip through the DVD promos, etc.) Is this normal?

I'm seeing the same thing, with the PowerDVD decoder & navigator, and the lack of a key to get to the DVD root menu is particularly annoying. I've seen in another thread that hitting ESC takes you to the DVD menu, but I haven't had chance to try it yet (my wife's hogging the PVR to watch 'Countdown' while I type this) but I need to map it to a key on my Hauppage 150 remote (45 key model) somehow.

Alternatively, you can try setting <DVDAllowVideoInset>false</DVDAllowVideoInset> in config.xml, which will mean the 'home' key will start takin you back to the dvd menu.

Yeah, seems to be a limitation of the DVD navigator filter. I'm not sure how I can avoid it, but I will look at it again sometime. Its only the case on some DVDs, most likely when the title is flagged as 'user must watch', like the FBI copyright warnings etc.

Any thoughts on the 'audio but no video' issue? It happens to me if I try and play a DVD a second time after going back to the main menu in GBPVR.

Its probably something to do with the combination of decoders/filters installed on your machine. Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe.log and gbpvr.exe-native.log, and I'll take a look.

Well, after upgrading to 0.96.12 and setting the 'DVD video inset' falg in config.xml to false, it all seems happy now. Restarting DVD playback numerous times always sems to work, so it looks like it was either fixed between .08 and .12 or it was 'user error' on my part.

Thanks, its all sorted out now, and my daughter can watch 'Princess Diaries 2' in complete comfort
