Setting DVD playback levels

Is there a way to modify the default brightness, color, etc. when playing a DVD in GBPVR? I am using the Intervideo codecs, and when I play a DVD with WinDVD I can adjust these, but the adjustments only work in the WinDVD app and do not carry over to GBPVR. Looking for a way to improve the playback in GBPVR...

And you are positive that you have windvd be the dvd playback in configuration?

The Intervideo codec that was installed with WinDVD 7 is the one I am using. The only other decoder on the system is the Intervideo NonCSS decoder that was installed for the PVR-150 tuner card.

you can check the DVD tab in the config to set which decoder is used for DVD playback.

also, you can use the built-in GBPVR picture adjustments. i have customized my keys but i believe it is set by pressing "1" then "F11" (or the "Home" key on a default hauppauge remote setup). you can search the "config.xml" for "videoplugin" and look for "ProcAmp" to get the right number...

Cool, I looked all over the wiki and could not find anything that mentioned the internal video controls. This should do the trick. Thanks everybody!

The Intervideo decoder settings for GBPVR must be manually set in the registry. With that said, the Intervideo brightness/contrast/color settings appear to be proprietary to WinDVD and don't seem to work when copied to the GBPVR registry key.

You would have more luck with the Cyberlink decoder which you can set brightness/contrast/color for GBPVR in the registry.

The ProcAmp settings I'm familiar with are for TV capture cards and affect what is encoded into the MPEG2 recording (located in the "direct.ini" file within the GBPVR directory).

IMO, if you are having brightness/contrast/color problems it is more likely caused by incorrect video card settings or TV/monitor settings, and messing with the decoder settings will reduce the dynamic range of these parameters unless you know for a fact that the source material is recorded incorrectly.
