I installed .NET 2.0 a last week, and it didn't appear to cause any problems with GB-PVR 0.94. Yesterday, I upgraded to 0.95.11 and now I have serious problems getting the DVB EPG to update correctly. Everytime, usually when it's about to write the EPG data collected, I get this error:
Quote:Setup Error:
Failed to load resources from resource file
Please check your setup

I've since removed .NET 2.0 and reinstalled GB-PVR 0.95 clean, but the problem persists. Is it possible that .NET 2.0 is causing the problem, and uninstalling it (.NET 2.0) hasn't really removed all traces?

I'd really like to get 0.95 working because it seems perfect. Smile

Do you have .net 1.1 also installed?

The error you mention above is the error that you get if you try to run GB-PVR on a system with just .net 2.0 runtime.

Thanks for the quick response. It was installed before .NET 2.0, but I'll try reinstalling it.

I have exactly the same problem, and on reading this I uninstalled and reinstalled .net 1.1 plus the hot fix and .net 2 but it still comes up with the same error message,
Setup Error:
Failed to load resources from resource file
Please check your setup
I have scoured the forums for answers but it appears that just us two have this problem!!
I have completely re installed Windows but still the same error!! can anyone help please

I installed .NET 1 and later installed .NET 2.

I can run 94.13 without problems (including obtaining EPG from BDA).

95.11 gives me the error dialog box and when i click OK, GBPVR disappears quickly and silently. I can see nothing relevant in the logs.

Thanks

Graham

I've had major problems with the guide since the update. Think i saw others mention it on the release thread.

I get the guide from the DVB EPG, worked fine in the last version. Updated, and the day after my guide was empty. Not mater what ive tried i havn't managed to get a full guide back, and have had this error message a few times whilst trying.

Not sure what version of .net I have. Just thought I would add that I have had the same problem, and until now thought I was the only one.

I had problems with installing 95.11, install stopped halfway with some error. After Googling I found out that it was .NET related. I uninstalled, re-installed .NET etc, but that didn't help. So "format C" did the trick for me eventually.

I'm getting the exact same problem as you guys here with the DVB EPG update.
During the scan, the app will start the BDA device (a hauppauge Nova-T card) as per normal and begin scanning channels. I think as of release 0.95.11 the message indicates a countdown of 120 seconds per channel scanned. When it gets to tuning request T:C66,834166,0,0,8 with 1 second left, I get the error message 'Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check your setup.'
I've only ever had .Net 1.1 installed on my machine (haven't got round to installing 2.0 yet) so I don't think the problem is related to 2.0.
Also, this error also seems to clear down the EPG completely as listings imported from an XMLTV file I use in conjunction with a PVR150 card are nowhere to be seen (even though the import process works ok).
As a last resort I tried changing the EPG source to be Bleb. Although import of the listings (from the website) seemed to be ok, the actual saving of the listings took forever - I'm talking about 40 mins! I'm pretty sure I've tried bleb in the past and it never took this long!

Help!

Can you zip and attach you config.exe.log file?

If it's any help - I just did a quick test. I don't normally use the DVB EPG source and have never had .Net v2 on my machine.

The scan got to the end of the 3rd MUX then I got a JIT popup with a stack overflow exception. The log shows that it has '1 more second' and carries on forever...

Log included.

lol - I almost forgot the attachment again.
