I can't get gbpvr to install, during installation I get 'Internal Error 2908' followed by a registry key. When I click 'Cancel' it does the same with a new key. It repeats this about 20 times(!) before I can then quickly cancel the installation.

I searched the forums and found one other instance of the problem from back in November last year, he had .NET v2 installed and found this was the problem. I DID have v2 installed but removing it doesn't seem to have made any difference.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Here's a quick summary of PC setup:

MSI Neo Platinum
Athlon 64 3000+
1GB DDR400
Nvidia G-Force MX400
Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T PCI
WinTV 2000 - Working(cr@p)

I've now noticed that it's not actually during the install that this happens but after, when the config program runs. If I try to run GBPVR though it goes straight into the config program(presumably because it doesn't yet have a valid config) and the same thing occurs. Would it help if I posted a list of the reg keys that are displayed?

Cheers,

Jamie

Yeah sure, it might have something useful in it.

Just thought I'd post to say I had this exact error and managed to resolve it.
First when installing I would get
"internal error 2908.
{A31FFC4C-7A78-4B4B-B816-571BE429ECB9}"

then after clicking ok (the only option), I would get this:
"Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'wmppia,Version="9.0.0.3095",PublicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35",
Culture="neutral",GUID="6bf52a50-394a-11d3-b153-00c04f79faa6"'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x8002802F."

Again, the only option is ok.
I managed to resolve this by completely removing gbpvr and .net framework 2.0 and installing .net framework 1.1, then reinstalling gbpvr. It was fine after that.

Just to add to this, I got the same error because I hadn't installed Net 1.1 components first. I read this thread first but i'm dealing with a fresh install of XP and hadn't got .Net 2.0 installed either.

I have encountered the same installation problems as mentioned above and I found this resolution, but how do I uninstall .net 2.0 and reinstall .net 1.1?

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, remote .net 2.0 then install .net 1.1

Really, as easy as that! Smile

I think he might of meant "remove" .net 2.0, just guessing here though.
