Hello -

I use my bluetooth Wireless Mouse instead of a remote but Im finding that support for this in GBPVR is lacking. Since a mouse does not have a built in back button like the remote does, navigating menus is becoming very difficult. For example, when adding a city using the Weather plugin, I can't navigate backwards to change a country if I accidently select the wrong one.

Other plugins such as the My ____ plugins suffer from this problem. Rather than plead to have all the plugin developers change their interfaces to always include a shortcut backwards, wouldnt it be simpler to have the right mouse button universally serve this function? Is there a way to program GBPVR to do this without waiting for a new version of the program?

In general, a stronger ability to customize the functions of the GBPVR mouse, remote, and keyboard buttons would be very useful.

If theres no way to fix this, consider this a feature request.

Thanks

EDIT: originally wrote this post as a plugin feature request and forgot to change the forum when i rewrote it. Sorry for posting in the plugin/skin forum since this doesnt really fit here.

You could achieve your desired results through Windows. Simply assign the ESC key to one of your mouse buttons and voila! You have your back button.

EDIT: One thing to keep in mind is that GBPVR doesn't attempt to reinvent the wheel. If Windows can already do it then GBPVR will "pass the buck" if you will.

Thanks for responding so quickly.

I think my problem gets a little more complicated than that, though. You see specific button assignments arent native to Windows. The software that came with my mouse is not compatible with Windows 2K, so I cant use it to reassign mouse button commands.

Still, even if the software was compatible, the option to reassign a mouse button to 'escape' key doesnt exist. (I have the same software installed on an XP computer - theres no way to make a mouse button work as an escape key, at least not with a Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse...)

So... Theres no way I can reassign the button in the control panel. Is there another possibility?

You are in luck. Microsoft has their Intellipoint software for free. You can download it here:

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/downlo...fault.mspx

And here is a link to instructions on how to program the buttons:

Your in luck in again, in that 96.08 gives the Right-Click of a mouse the same function as 'Back' or 'esc' on a keyboard.
