Failure to Initiate Infrared Remote Hardware?

Can anyone tell me how to get the remote to initiate? I have unistalled drivers and the program twice and it still won't pick up the remote. Thanks

I returned the previous pvr kit it was the Hauppauge WinTv 150 that came with the 45 button remote. The new remote works, it must have been a problem with the original remote. Thanks.
