I have been using GB-PVR for almost a year, and find it the very best of HTPC software packs. A big thank you to Sub for the great work.
Tonight I upgraded the framework to 2.0, changed to blue skin, disabled plugins, and finally upgraded GB-PVR from 0.95.16 to 0.97.07. I know that several releases has been out since 0.95.16, but it has been running perfectly fine, so I didn't bother to upgrade until now.
Unfortunately only few things works after the upgrade.
  • On the PC, LiveTV causes error: "Error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other menory is corrupt."

  • Live TV via MVP plays, but when I stop i get this error: "Error: object reference not set to an instance of an object."
  • Replay of recorded show via PC causes this error: "Error: Failure playing back file"

  • Replay of recorded show via MVP plays, but when I stop i get this error: "Error: object reference not set to an instance of an object."
  • Playing MP3 via PC or MVP causes the same error: "Error: object reference not set to an instance of an object."

  • Showing jpg files via Photo Library (PC or MVP) kind of works, but in every folder the first three pictures are always showed very blurry while the rest are showed perfectly sharp.

  • Netradio via MVP: All stations causes: Failed to connect to radio station"

  • My Danish translation on no longer working, language.xml is ignored by GB-PVR.

No windows error messages and nothing in Windows Event viewer.
Everything else, which is acually not much, seems to work.
I am going on vacation in a few days, so I don't have time for a complete fresh install of the PC. Fortunately I made a Ghost backup of the entire windows installation before I upgraded. If no easy solution comes up I will roll back to 0.95.16
Logfiles are attached. At 21.10 I replay the show "Fast track" and stop it after few seconds.

A known bug in the MyPictures plugin can cause these.

By default it uses the Windows thumbs.db for the preview images. These preview images are fast, but pretty small and dont expand very well. You can disable use of thumbs.db and get much higher quality images, but its much slower.

Do you have danish selected as the language in the config app? Each time you click the ok button in the config app, the language.xml file is overwritten with the currently selected language.

I already tried to rename the MyPictures.dll file, but it had no effect. How can I get rid of the plugin? In the Config program the remove button is gray.

Ups, I didn't realize that you can select the language in Config, thought that I should just put the language.xml in the program folder. Now the language is working.

Move the DLL out of the directory, or delete it entirely.

Thanks a lot, that solved everything, including the strange blurred pictures.
The support here is way better than what you can expect anywhere else.
Keep on the good work!

Hi

I am still having problems with 97.7 with both playing back files either from the recordings menu or the vidoes menus - I get the error ' error playing back file'. Live TV also doesnt work - I get the error of object not found

I have deleted mypictures plugins and other plugins and I have tried different video and audio decoders (cyberlink, nero etc) to no avail.

I attach my logs and was hoping someone can help!

Many thanks

Tim

Two things I would try.

1) Change the audio renderer. The last message in all the attached logs just at time the problem occurred:
Quote:20:31:15.681 VERBOSE audio renderer filter: CyberLink Audio Renderer

2) Try switching the video renderer. I think you're currently using VMR9 Custom.
