First let me say thanks to you guys who have filled this forum with so much good info. I'm not very computer savvy and I've been able to get my machine up and running with few issues.
Thanks.
the only thing I can't seem to figure out at this point is how to get full screen viewing on my SDTV. I have the tool bar on auto-hide so that goes away but there is still a bar at the top of th screen with the close out "X", and the minimize/maximize buttons. This weekend I plan on getting rid of my monitor all together so getting the best performance out of my SDTV is next on my list.

My memory is the pits but...

Open Config.exe

On the first tab, "General", there is an option to run GBPVR in full-screen or windowed mode.

David

Did I say that I wasn't very computer savvy???
Thanks.

Like Old Dog said... uncheck the "windowed" more and you will get full screen. Trust me... everything in GB-PVR will be very easy to read on your SDTV. I have a 27" SDTV that is 10-14 from where I sit and every thing is very readable!

And I agree, this forum rocks! I got everything up running quickly as well in the last month or so. Smile

Dont know if you use Hauppauge stuff, but their 34 button remote had a full screen button that toggled between windowed and full screen that was really handy, shame its not available on the 45 button remote though.

i'd love to know the keyboard shortcut for full/windowed if anyone knows?

ALT ENTER works on my home machine -- runs GBPVR in a full screen with no X in the upper corner. Mark

Wanna know what blows my mind? Well, I'm gonna tell you anyway.
Why would anyone buy TiVo or something like that when building one is so easy. I'm not a computer geek by ANY stretch but I was able to get my configured and up and running in one evening (after the hardware was installed). I picked up my machine already built from a user on the BYOPVR forum. I have maybe $400 in my machine, not much more than my brother paid for his Tivo.
I dunno, I'm kind of a DIY kinda guy so it's just a thought.
