Hi. I've been using v0.98.13b for about a month now and I've been having a bit of an issue with playback since (just been too lazy to do anything about it unfortunately). If I try and play a file/recorded show, from when I click to play, it pauses for about 20seconds, and then it starts playing the file.

DVD playback is okay, and Live TV (without recording) is fine. If I try and watch Live TV while it is recording a program, and choose to watch the show, then I get the same issue, i.e. the screen pauses for about 20seconds before it starts the show. It does not have any affect on the recording process.

When it pauses, it shows whatever is currently on screen (so its not a blank screen).

I've attached my GBPVR.exe-1.log as that has references from yesterday when I tried playing some of the files.

As an example, the following 2 lines in the log are from clicking to play a recording, and the recording actually being played:

23/11/2006 21:52:42.049 INFO [1] playFile(CSI: Crime Scene Investigation)
...
23/11/2006 21:53:05.853 VERBOSE [1] Playback started: D:\MyVideos\Recordings\CSI Crime Scene Investigation\CSI Crime Scene Investigation_20061123_20002100.dvr-ms

So thats a 23 second delay.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Just bumping my own message, anyone have any idea about my issue?

All files I try to playback have the same messages in the log file. The only difference is usually the file name, but the message it self is the same, which is along the following lines:

Would really appreciate any help, cheers

I had a similiar problem.
It was due to recordings made with my pvr150 & bad drivers.

Is this on a client machine in a client/server setup, or just locally a regular GB-PVR install?

Quote:23/11/2006 20:24:18.004 VERBOSE [1] getValue cached value: /settings/ClientRemoteServer : hushpc
23/11/2006 20:24:39.258 VERBOSE [1] Unexpected error downloading file from server: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.DoConnect(EndPoint endPointSnapshot, SocketAddress socketAddress)
at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.Connect(EndPoint remoteEP)
at GBPVR.Backend.Common.xfd4ccc57ec7c0067.xb8c7cea7e0eb7ecf(String x8b1d9e3189e6e73d)

It looks like its trying to connect to a server machine called 'hushpc' but not managing to. BTW, this machine is sitting in my lounge, and I'm not surprised it cant get to it.

Its on a regular install of GBPVR.

hushpc doesn't sound like any familair PC name to me, certainly not on my network as far as I'm aware. I do have some mapped drives set up to attach to another PC which my PVR has access to (but the files were available so no reason it couldn't access those), but I get this delay regardless of where the files are stored (locally or remotely).

nitrogen: I do have a PVR150, but this happens to any file I play, regardless of whether it was recorded using the PVR150 or not.

I do remember fixing something earlier that could resolve this. If you havnt already, you could try applying this patch: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=8. It wasnt intended for this specific problem you mention, but I seem to remember I fixed it, and the fix is probably included in that patch. Give it a go.
