Sub,

I installed an HVR-1600 the other day and it was working well. Today it recorded a show and it came out fine. All of a sudden the analog side stopped recording, stopped working on Live-TV, etc. When a recording starts or I try to watch a show (even on a client), the green G shows and the status is it is recording. It creates a folder but there is no file in it. The hard drive is flashing like it is recording.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Bigbus

This will be the error, but its not clear what the cause of this is. Are you sure the device wasnt in use by something else on the machine?

I thinking maybe the card names in bda.ini and direct.ini need to be renamed to match. This would stop GB-PVR from trying to use the analog and digital side of this at the same time.

The digital side is working but the analog side is not. I can watch and record digital.

I don't think so. I'm looking at the two files in the 1600 section and I don't know what you mean about the names.

When I start the analog side, it is tuning the cable box. When I run Digital, it doesn't so I would assume it isn't using them at the same time.

Yesterday I got it to record off both tuners so they can work at the same time--I don't think that is what you mean.

Ok, it must physically have two tuners.

I'm not really sure.

Here are the two files. Does this help? I don't see where the names would be a problem.

Thanks for the quick replies.

If its got two separate tuners, then this wont be the cause of your problem.

What I was suggesting though, was that it should be [Hauppauge HVR-1600] in both these files so that GB-PVR would be able to work out both capture sources were the same device, and shouldnt attempt to use them at the same time.

Could it be that I set up two inputs on the analog side as two separate capture sources. I am using the S input as the primary but I also setup the cable input using the same device number for live-tv. Should I call that one capture source number 2?
