Whenever I set something to record, GBPVR doesn't record the entire program. It seems pretty random how much is actually recorded. Sometimes it's less than a minute, while sometimes it records more than half of the show. It doesn't matter what player I play the files in, and the size of the files seems to indicate that the program just stopped recording at some point.

Attached are my logs. Can anyone think of what might cause this to happen?

If you're having signal problems, that might be enough to upset the mux filter, causing it to stop producing data.

I can see in your logs that did lose all signal for at least a short time

Is there any way to set it to just recover and keep recording? It'd suck, but I wouldn't mind losing a couple seconds here and there if it meant I could reliably record my shows.

I dont really have any control over the mux doing this.

That said, most people dont have problems like that so you may find different card drivers or a better antenna could help. Its odd that the signal would drop right out.

You could try the TS Mux option instead, and install HDTV Pump so you can play your recordings: http://dvbportal.dyn1.de/download.php?fi...-1.0.7.zip

It'll probably handle drop outs better.

Alright, well, unfortunately the TS Mux option didn't do any better. However, the one thing that did work was to hit play right after the recording started. I haven't checked on the quality yet, but it did finish recording the entire show.

Is there any way you could add something to the software to facilitate this in the future? I mean, I have no idea why it makes a difference, but it does seem to, and it'd be great to be able to start recording shows without being here at the PC when the show starts.

Thanks!

Yuck - no. You'd be better off trying to fix whatever is causing you to have signal problems.

Honestly though, I'd say that was just luck.

Hmm...

Well, I'll try recording something that way tonight, a full 1 hour long show, and if it works I'm gonna assume that way will work in the future. I really can't think of anything that would be screwing with my signal, unless my card sucks or something. I mean, it's a pretty steady 80-90% for one and 70-80% for the other when it comes to strength/quality (I forget which is which). It doesn't seem like it should be dropping out, considering I've had success watching stuff on channels with much, much worse reception.

One thing you could try is temporarily setting <BDAUsePsiParser> to 'false' in config.xml to see if it helps.
