My setup is the following:
P4 2.4GHz
1G RAM
80MB HD
PVR-150
Ti4200

I have an issue that appears to only occur when playing back a recorded show while it's still recording. So let's say I have a 2 hr show recording and I start watching it from the beginning an hr through the recording. While playing back it seems to jump ahead from time to time. And it's not that the video is missing from the recording, I can do a rewind and then it will play the skipped content.

Any ideas on what could cause/cure this issue? I don't seem to have any problems like this when viewing a recording that's finished recording in it's entirety.

I'm not sure. I've not seen any other reports of this.

Zip and attach your logs and I'll see if I can see anything obvious.

Actually I take that back about it happening while it was recording, the show was actually over when the playback issues were occurring. I will get the log off when I have a moment.

I've got the same type of problem on an infrequent basis. Usually happens when I'm playing back a show and recordingit and some others at the same time. This gets resolved once I do a defrag.

I had this problem when my "live tv" drive had bad sectors. look in the system event log and see if it reports disk errors. you may also want to do a 5 stage checkdisk

More info on the issue: A couple of things are going on here:

Again, I want to stress that this is watching the recording after it's finished recording, it doesn't have anything to do with attempting to watch the recording while it's still recording.

1) While watching the recording it intermittently jumps ahead several minutes all on it's own while watching the recording. The recording is actually there because you can actually rewind and go back to the skipped portion.
2) While using the remote to jump ahead it sometimes jumps ahead by like 10 mins or so instead of the nominal 30 secs.

Any thoughts on this are appreciated. This is a great product in all respects except this issue. I have to get past this issue in order to make gbpvr useful to us.

I thought this might have something to do with comskip so I shut off all the options regarding comskip but this didn't solve any of the problems. Also note that the recordings were made with the comskip options turned on(comskip to work post recording, not while recording).

Yes, I think you are right, one of the things I noticed that although it was a 2 hr recording it was reporting something like 1:15. I am currently running the latest version of the Hauppage drivers. Can I just add the registry settings, reboot and off I go?

I believe this did the trick. Two nearly flawless recordings tonight. Previously all recordings had the time shifting problem. I say nearly flawless because I had a problem with the second recording where a portion of the recording stuttered and then gbpvr froze up. I had to back out to the main menu, go back to the recording and jump over the frozen part of the recording.
