What information is matched for DVB EPG

I've got no guide data. What is being used as the key between scanned channels and the epg data? Do I need to do something further to the channels after scanning before updating the epg?

What information is matched for DVB EPG

Location: USA

I'm not aware of any services using the DVB EPG in the USA. DishNetwork etc, do not use the DVB standard EPG, instead opting to use their own proprietary mechanism.

I believe many/most users in the USA use zapit to obtain their EPG data.

GBPVR uses the station name to match the channel in gbpvr to the corresponding channel data in the XML file.
