At least it seems weird to me...

I've been using an MCE blaster driven by Hip for quite a while with no issues. A week or so ago I started using this machine to act as the server for my MVP boxes. I set up config to start 3 instances of the MVP server. It worked fine but I started getting that window with the 'This is the MVP server process...' message. Based on some advice I found here the forums, I unset the 'Allow service to interact with desktop' box for the GB-PVR Recording service and that stopped the window. However, it also seems to have affected the IR blaster somehow. It would work fine if I selected a program in the guide and clicked on Watch...it would change the channel just fine. However, it would not change the channel for a recording. I went in and re-set the 'Allow service...' box for the recording server and now the blaster works fine again...but I get the MVP window.

Has anyone seen this before? Is there something I need to set in Hip? Any other ideas? For now I've turned off the MVP servers but I'd like to be able to run both.

This will be because HIP is using the clipboard (WM_COPYDATA message) to transfer data between processes. This only works when the 'Allow service...' setting is set.

You might need to try asking the author of HIP to provide a version that does not need two components to be in the same windows session.
