I recently upgraded my PC, and when I did that, I decided not to reconnect my second, failing, HDD. After I got everything booted up, every time I start windows (or try to open GBPVR), I get an install screen that pops up. Unfortunately, it tries to install something to my D drive (which is now a DVD drive, and even if I put in writable media, the install falls).

Interestingly enough, I can open up the old version of GBPVR, but PVRX2 or the config window cause the install to pop up.

I was wondering if there's any way I can fix this without doing a fresh install? I don't want to lose my channel data (since I don't have any way to fix it now that the free services are gone).

Let me know if you've got any ideas.

I cant think of any reason it'd be trying to write anything to the D: drive.

Well, there was a time when I as using the D drive as extra storage, so maybe the program is trying to create a folder there or something? The message says, more or less, "Disk out of space - Volume 'D:'; required space 270KB; space available 0 KB; Free some disc space and try again"

I dont really know. Its probably some sort of magic the Windows MSI installer is trying to perform. You could check if there is any useful messages in the Windows Event Viewer.

Which files should I try to save in order to keep my channel settings? I'll just wipe it and reinstall fresh.

The only important files are config.xml and gbpvr.db3.

I get this if my gbpvr data drive is disconnected when I boot up. Its Windows seeing something missing (no idea what). You might be able to run config and make sure data, video, music, buffer etc are all point to real drives and subdirectories?? Seems to work for me.
