Gedanken Wrote:I belive the config tool loads PVRX2 because it tries to display video during the digital channel mapping. Not sure how to simulate that if you don't have a digital tuner. That makes sense, on both counts. At this point, I'm not sure what to suggest. I guess it is worth ensuring that the panel.xml file is in your skin directory, as appropriate. It should be there already, but may very well not if you are using a custom skin. Failing that, I'll have to see if I can find some more details of what PVRX2 goes through when it does the channel scan, and how it differs from a 'normal' startup.

Ommina have you found a way to play .MKV files yet?
http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...light=.MKV i've been looking for a bit now on how to solve this issue.

I play mkv files (and mp4, ogm, etc) files in GBPVR all the time. Easiest way to get it working is to install the CCCP codec pack.
I even transcode my recorded files to H264 inside an MKV with either AAC or AC3 audio. After you install the CODEC pack, you may want to play with the language defaults in the splitter. The Anime Lib can set some defaults for you. The other alternative is to install individual CODECs. You will need to install a splitter like Haali's media splitter. You probably need an H.264 codec for your mkv files. MKV is just a container but most people put H.264/AVC compressed fiiles into them. Many people like CoreAVC but it is not freeware. You may need to install an audio CODEC as well depending on what you are playing and what you are rendering it to. All this is assuming you are trying to play the files on a PC, of course, rather than an MVP/PCH.

thx a lot for your reply i actually had each coded pack installed individually that's offered in the CCCP codec pack but it wasn't working for some reason but now it is that i installed the CCCP pack

I noticed that the Anilib generates an exception when you try to load the EPG using the right-click menu of the GBPVR tray application. 2008-12-01 22:31:25.875 WARNING [1] requested skin file not found: AniLibrary\panel.xml 2008-12-01 22:31:25.875 ERROR [1] Error initializing panel plugin: C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\plugins\AniLibrary\AniLibrary.dll 2008-12-01 22:31:25.875 ERROR [1] Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. 2008-12-01 22:31:25.890 ERROR [1] at System.RuntimeTypeHandle.CreateInstance(RuntimeType type, Boolean publicOnly, Boolean noCheck, Boolean& canBeCached, RuntimeMethodHandle& ctor, Boolean& bNeedSecurityCheck) at System.RuntimeType.CreateInstanceSlow(Boolean publicOnly, Boolean fillCache) at System.RuntimeType.CreateInstanceImpl(Boolean publicOnly, Boolean skipVisibilityChecks, Boolean fillCache) at System.Activator.CreateInstance(Type type, Boolean nonPublic) at GBPVR.Backend.Common.xc4f12ec3a8a4c96b.xd1ccdef346e6a297(Boolean x8bae2a88590d8cc0) I don't know if it is that same crash bug as when I try to use the config app to map digital recordings but it may be.

It certainly looks the same. Although how the panel, the library, and loading the EPG relate is beyond me!
Still, this is something I can test. I'll give it a try later this evening and see what I can turn up. Thank you very much for pointing it out!

Well, I've made some small measure of progress. I think. Possibly.
Are you seeing annoying "Unhandled Exception" popups as well when you try to do the EPG update or digital mapping? Or is it strictly the exception in the log? Does panel.xml exist in the AniLibrary folder of whatever skin you're using? Further, if you're not using the default blue, does panel.xml exist in the skin2\blue tree? Sorry for the questions -- I'm looking at releasing a small new version, and I would like to get this worked out before hand if at all possible.

Ommina Wrote:Well, I've made some small measure of progress. I think. Possibly. I do see Unhandled Exception when I do the EPG mapping but I see those anyway do to other issue with the psiparser, it seems. I don't see them when I do the EPG update, but then I think that is because the service is launching these processes and it doesn't have desktop access. I am using the default blue skip and the panel.xml exists in that skin. The skin loads fine when I launch the PVRX2 app normally. I suspect that loading the EPG is related to the EPG mapping because both launch PVRX2 in a windowless mode. So perhaps your plugin is trying to render its bitmaps to a window that doesn't exist? That doesn't match the error but perhaps it is being reported badly.

Well, I made some changes. Whether or not they will do any good or not, I don't know.
I do believe you are wholly correct in that it has something to with the windowless mode, and expect that you're also right that the Unhandled Exception popup is not being displayed when run by the service. For my part, I'm handling possible problems with the panel creation more gracefully. It does not really remove the error, but does, I hope, suppress its expression during those times when it doesn't matter anyway. Time to start looking at packaging it up I guess. |
