I recently installed 2 new Freecom DVB-T USB sticks but have not been able to get GBPVR to recognize them. My original Freecom stick is about a year old and is working ok (most of the time but that's for another post!). It looks like these 2 new sticks have different chipsets and the drivers are slightly different - although the BDA drivers are loaded for them.

When I disable my older Freecom device and try and add new BDA devices in GBPVR config it says that no devices are detected on my machine.

Here is how they look in my devices (the one is green is the original working device):-

And here is the log from Filtercheck:-

Maybe try adding this to your bda.ini file:

[REALTEK 2831U]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=REALTEK 2831U_BDA Filter
FILTER_CAPTURE=REALTEK 2831U_BDA Filter
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=Output1
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=Input0
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=Output1

I added it and was able to select it from the devices dropdown but after the 'initializing' message comes up I get an unhandled exception error:-

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

This is a new log showing from me going in to add the new device in config to getting the exception error. It may be more what you need to see...

The cause isnt clear to me in these logs, but maybe try this instead:

[REALTEK 2831U]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=REALTEK 2831U_BDA Filter
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=Output1

Awesome! That did the trick!

You are God! Big Grin

Now for the 2nd new Freecom stick do I just add another capture device in config with device number set to 3? or do I need to add another tweaked entry into bda.ini?
