Progress bar in liveTV

I don't use live preview mode, so I'm recording whenever I pull up a channel -- when in live TV, there doesn't seem to be a way to pull up the progress bar without either pausing, FF, or Rew.

This is a bit inconsistent with the way <ctrl> B works in recordings or DVD.

Is there a setting I can change somewhere to make the progress bar appear with the info screen in "LiveTV" like it does in "recordings"?

Live preview mode doesnt have a progress bar, but if you're in timeshift mode you should be able to press Ctrl-B the same as recordings or dvd playback.

Correct - I'm using timeshift mode (couldn't think of the name at the time) --- however, when I use <ctrl> b, the info screen comes up at the bottom, but no progress bar -- unless I pause, rew, or ff.

Ah, thinking about it, yes - you could be right. I suspect it only shows the info at the bottom, not the timeline. I'll see about adding the timeline aswell for the next release.
