Overlay Manager Playback Controls

I am unable to use the playback control buttons with Overlay Manager.
By playback control buttons I mean fast forward, pause, exit, etc on the playback screen.
If I use either VMR9 Custom or VMR9 Full Screen Control the playback buttons work and the audio works but there is no video, just a black screen. If I try EVR, PVRX2 won't open. When I use Overlay Manager I get both audio and video but the playback buttons don't work. To stop playback, I have to use cntl-alt-del to get to Task Manager and then End Task.

I am using 10213.

This is a known problem with the overlay renderer. You can use the keyboard or remote, but not the mouse.

vmr9 custom works on my old computer. Any suggestions for getting it to work on my newer, faster computer

Its probably related to your video decoder, which one are you using? and what video decoder do you have?

I think my video decoder is ms. How do I confirm this?

What MPEG2 video decoder do you have selected on the 'playback' tab of the config app? If you've only got 'system default' listed, then you probably dont have compatible decoder installed.

system default. My choices are intervideo noncss for hauppage, nero and mpeg videodecoder

None of those are great, and are all known to have problems on some systems.
