I rip a DVD with DVDFab, about half the time lately I get subtitles always on. In GBPVR (PVRX2) They are not shown as on, and I can turn additional subtitles on (so there are two sets displayed).

I suspect that it is something in DVDFab, but wanted to see if anyone else has seen this. I am working on deconvoluting the software, but that is in progress.

In DVDFab, I've found several locations that seem to relate, but they have not effect.

Sorry, this may be a bit outside the scope of these forums, but looking for help. And on the offchance that it may not be DVDFab (codec? PVRX2? timing of issue could be tied to my latest upgrade?)

Thanks.

If you can get two sets, then it sounds like one set isnt being generated by GB-PVR. Try playing one, confirm subtitles are visible, then wait a while, then post the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

I made a copy with DVD Decrypter, another set of problems, but the subtitles are not there. So DVDFab is looking like the culprit. argh.

Just made a copy with dvd decrypter, was able to get the full functioning movie (not just running one FOB) and it had the subtitles. I looked at an old movie that I've watched that previously without subtitles, and yep, it now does.

really appreciate the help.

If you select a different video decoder for DVD playback, does the problem go away?

I only see system default as a dvd playback option. Any suggestions, or just look about for DVD decoders? I think I can confirm that it is something in the playback as running the DVD directly has the same issue.

Thanks.

Most people are using pay decoders for DVD playback, like the Cyberlink decoders from PowerDVD. For free decoders, I think you might be able to use the dscaler decoder.

yep, that looks like it was it. I found I had a copy of the cyberlink decoders, installed them and things look fine now. I had forgotten about the timing of a new video card. Must have uninstalled the old drivers then (?)
thanks for the help, really appreciate it
