I am using graphrecorder to define my unsupported Avermedia Bravo Hybrid card as an analog device. I am using a firewire connection for channel changing. I also want to be able to record via firewire.

I have a couple of questions about this setup:

Can I have separate EPGs as the firewire connection will only pick up unencrypted channels?

Can I randomly choose which device to use for LiveTV and recording?

Currently, it appears as though it is using firewire for preview and I lose audio after a few seconds. It plays fine in GraphEdit.

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone at least answer the question:

Can I randomly choose which device to use for LiveTV and recording?

Thanks

Yes. You can setup whatever EPG you like. You can also disable any channels you cant access via that capture source.

No, the app chooses. It looks for the last available capture source that has the requested channels though, so you might be able to order the capture sources, or use channel names that give you what you want.

Sub,

Thanks for the update.

If I am understanding you correctly, as my firewire recordings are much better in quality than my tuner card, I could set up an EPG with just the channels that my firewire receives and another full EPG minus these channels. If so, how are the 2 EPGs available to me?

Thanks

The TV Guide always shows one combined EPG made up from the channels available on each capture source. If the multiple capture sources have channels have the same name, they're treated as the same channel and only shown once in the guide.

Thanks again, I think that will accomplish what I need. Will try it tonight when I get home.

Do you think that the logs might give me a clue why I lose audio?

Finally got around to trying to implement this change, but must be doing something wrong.

I now have two capture devices with different epg xml files. I have tried to remove channels from my tuner card that I know I can get using my firewire connection. However, when I 'Update EPG' all the original channels come back.

I am using GraphRecorder for both devices and have two different epg xml files in the same directory. Could this be part of my problem?

If you supply an xmltv file with new channels, they're always created. Instead of removing them, just mark them as disabled (or use a separate xmltv file without the extra channels).

Help! What have I done wrong?

I have attached my config for both capture devices using the same xmltv file. Now, when I preview, it is random which channel GBPVR is tuned to, but not the channel set on my STB. Whether I am tune to a channel for devide #1 or device #2 I get a black screen. I have determined that the correct graph is being used in GraphEdit, but most of the connections are broken.

As of right now, I can't watch anything. I have attached what I think is of importance.

Thanks
