okay, a friend gave me another card to try, but before I install it, will it work? here is a picture. I know it says pvr-150 and supposedly that is compatible. but I thought the last card I had was compatible and it didnt work. so friend, will it work or not...Big Grin

If it's a Hauppauge pvr 150 it should - but there's no picture attached, and you sound uncertain about what it is, so...

Thats the one I have (but European PAL version).
Works fine for terrestrial TV, capturing from an STB etc etc....

Did you get the remote and cables with IR receiver and blaster with it ??

UPDATE - Finding and reading your earlier posts - this tuner is Analogue.
I got the impression you wanted a digital tuner????

That is what I am using. Analog only, no digital.

I really just want to get the most channels that i can. on my digital tv all i get is one anolog signal. i was under the impression that analog is gone and everything is now digital. am i thinking wrong? i think im confused.:o

I believe that there are some local low-power stations that are still analog but all the majors are digital. The 150 will only receive analog. You could probably feed it with a digital converter box via the composite or svideo inputs. Or the output of a cable box if you have cable. That gets a little more complicated because you'll need an IR blaster to handle channel changing.

I have an fta box. could i feed it through that to the card? or is it not that simple.

Yes, that would work, if you have the IR Blaster that goes with the PVR-150 (otherwise GB-PVR won't be able to change channels on the box, you'd have to do it by hand).

But that really is the hard way, and will definitely impact your picture quality. If you're serious about setting this up right, find a digital tuner.
