I normally record/playback on the same PC that my HD-PVR is installed. I decided to playback a recording on a difference PC.

Holy crap. Nightmare.

I've tried various direct show codecs that were posted in the net. K-Lite, with the default settings...

Does anyone have a magic combination to get these to playback in WMP?

I had considered plugging my HD-PVR into the other PC so I could install the Hauppage stuff to get the correct codec, but that just seems... stupid.

You probably need to install Haali splitter (or similar) so that the machine knows how to play .ts files. You'd also need decoders for the audio/video contained within the .ts file. Something like ffdshow should give you this.

Learned something new. Start the playback of the video in WMP, right click on it's name (with the list view on the side open) and it'll display the codec in use.

Interestingly, it wasn't playing back with anything that came with the HD-PVR, rather it was using the CoreAVC I purchased and installed for another project.

Interesting that the other H264 codecs I installed on the other PC wouldn't play it back, however.
