Hi

Have been trying to get FM radio to work with MCE500 dual tuner card.

Have tried setting Tuner1 to Hauppauge 500 and Tuner2 to Hauppauge 500 +FM

Have also tried the reverse of the above.

When scanning channels in FM radio the tunning bar just its at 87.5Mhz.

I have an ariel connected and would expect the bar to progress in frequency. It just sits there.

I have installed the Hauppauge MCE500 drivers and have devices for both tuner 1 and 2 in device manager. The devices are listed as WinTV PVR II (23xxx). Driver version is 2.0.30.23074. Read in forum that FM can be on either device so tried the options as above. Have also installed the Lame driver (and registered it).

Had only limited success with searching in forum as searching for "FM" gives no hits??

Any ideas?

You're probably better off searching for 'radio' because 'FM' is too short to be indexed for searching.

Post your GBPVR.exe.log and GBPVR.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

well at least I tried.

.log files are not allowed as upload files and .txt files are only allowed to be 19K. Mine are larger

Will try to zip them

Did you actually hit the scan button for that log? It does seem to have had a scan initiated.

yes, I ran GBPVR, went to music, ran FMRadio then hit the scan button. The scanning bar appeared with the skip, cancel buttons on it. The window said please wait, checking etc. The frequency sticks at 87.50MHz but did not increment. I left it in that state for 5mins then hit cancel, exited from GBPVR and uploaded logs.

The log you attached only covers a one minute period to GB-PVR is close, so it sounds like we're not talking about the same log.

Sorry for the delay have been very busy of late.

Have repeated exercise. This time deleted all logs in the GBPVR directory, started GBPVR, tried to tune FM radio, left it tuning for a while, then went into weather module, scrolled some menus etc, then exited. The attached zip contains all of the log files created by the above activity.

My FM radio pluggin is in a subdirectory called music, along with all the other music stuff. I.e. I have added a folder to the root menu and moved all of the music stuff into it - to give me a shorter and simpler main menu.

Could that be the problem?

I had a similar problem before with the FM tuner recently, it seems that GBPVR can only capture signal from either cable or antenna. If your cable does not include FM signals it will not receive radio. Try this, transfer one of your tuners to antenna and try to scan again or manually enter a radio frequency. If this works, your FM tuner works, but then you have to choose between cable and antenna. I chose cable.

Hope this bit of info helps.
