Hi, am wondering if anybody else encountered this problem with some channels. I have included a short captured video to really describe the problem. I have included 2 images of the new distorted image and 1 of the image previously.

First of all, I never had this problem with this channel, I do have this problem with some other channels that I don't really watch. All of a sudden, without notice, the distortion appears. I hope somebody can help me with this, I tried the Tuning Assistant and Freqcopy but still nothing. I have the PVR-500MCE on a WinXP Pro SP2 machine. Could this have anything to do with PVR-500MCE not being compatible with WinXP Pro SP2, I did have couple of problems before with the drivers when I was installing it. Although, I have been using the PVR continously for 1 month without this problem.

Any help is most appreciated. If it's tuning, is there a software that will help me manually fine-tune the frequency/Adjust Vertical and horizontal hold.

Thanks
stefan

I'm not saying it's tuning, but if you find a frequency that works, you can enter that frequency instead of channel number in the config utility (source setup).

I think the tuning assistant ca show you the frequency it found the channel on. You can try entering that into the channel column, and then change it up/down (manually) in steps of, say, 500.

Another way to find out which frequency to start at is with wintv2000, whcih can be set to frequency mode (as opposed to channel mode). A third way would be to ask your cable company for the frequencies.
I'm not always right
