Unable to find available capture device
Posted by: Dave.H - 2014-09-27, 11:55 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (27)

A little background here. Windows Server 2012, NextPVR 3.2.9, Hauppauge Win-TV 2250

I had this all working well and have made several recordings. I've been playing with different ways to try and get this available on my Amazon Fire TV. (no success without it being buggy). Anyway, the other day I installed MediaPortal to try. I prefer NextPVR and uninstalled MediaPortal. Now NextPVR will still scan and find all the channels and even the EPG, but when I try and watch TV I get "Unable to find available capture device". Again, I had this working earlier this week before trying MediaPortal. For what it's worth I can still watch TV through the Hauppauge WinTV app. But I don't think that is what is causing the issue as I've had that installed long before I ever had NextPVR working.

What am I missing?

When I click on "Live TV" here is what I get in the log file

Code:
2014-09-27 07:57:41.984 [DEBUG][1] GetServerStatus() returns: <Status> <Device oid="20" identifier="Hauppauge WinTV-7164 BDA ATSC/QAM Tuner:1"> </Device> <Device oid="22" identifier="Hauppauge WinTV-7164 BDA ATSC/QAM Tuner:2"> </Device> </Status> 2014-09-27 07:57:41.987 [DEBUG][1] StartLiveTV@1 2014-09-27 07:57:41.987 [DEBUG][1] StartLiveTV@2 2014-09-27 07:57:41.987 [DEBUG][1] StartLiveTV@3 2014-09-27 07:57:41.987 [DEBUG][1] StartLiveTV@4

  HDHomeRun issue
Posted by: sbiddle - 2014-09-26, 10:06 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I've got a new Win 8.1 box that I'm planning on migrating my install over to. I'm having trouble getting my HDHomeRun to scan for channels.

This is something I've done many times before on many different machines so I'm aware of the most common issue being the Windows Firewall - but with this disabled it still won't work.

I'm seeing this in the log

  Cl module

I got the mail below from Digital Device

Can you confirm that the Cl function now is implemented in NexPVR ?

Can I run NextPVR side by side wit WMC ?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

this I can not say, whether NextPVR have implemented the CI function. On my test area are currently no NextPVR Installation. All Software Developers can get from us the the needed information and ressources to implement the CI Support in there Software. So best is you ask the NextPVR Team.

  Web interface configuration error
Posted by: drfarmkid - 2014-09-26, 10:11 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I've been using NPVR (and GBPVR before that) for years now and any problems I've had I've been able to fix with help I've found here in the forums. I can't find anyone whose had this one, though. The problem is with the web interface. When I try to open the page, I get the following error:

Quote:Server Error in '/' Application.

It seems I should be able to fix it by making some change to line 42, but I have no idea what to change it to.

  Recurring recordings problem
Posted by: jghanisco - 2014-09-26, 05:01 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

I originally thought this was a guideplus error, but I don't think so any more. On the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the final episode of the season was tonight. It was season 19, episode 159. For the past few months, I didn't have many episodes recording. After searching, I noticed s19e159 is converted to s019e015 in the epg_event of the database, instead of s019e159. So starting with episode 100, it showed as episode 10, and wouldn't record again until episode 110, then 120, etc. Season 16 starts on Monday, so I won't have this issue until next year. Could this be an error with converting a 3 digit episode number?

NextPVR showing me IPTV device - I have HDHR
Posted by: teredactle - 2014-09-25, 11:16 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (22)

Hi all,

I recently bought a HDHR to use OTA. I used the HDHR software, it's installed, it tuned and picks up 20+ channels. I set up NextPVR in hope to record. Once I install and launch it, the only device showing is IPTV.

From reading, I understood that the tuner would show up in the list. Tried everything. Restarted services, removed NPVR and reinstalled it. First I had firewall totally of then I added exceptions.

I'm not a noob with this sort of stuff, I have two XBMC boxes and was hoping to use them so I can watch tv too, but this is painful.

Really, I spent $90 on the HDHR and not I'm really questioning if that was wise...

Any ideas would certainly help, I've wasted about 4 hours searching on the forum here as well as on the net for a walk through for HDHR but nothing...

Cheers and thanks!
