I've created a bug tacker in the portal (accessible via, help -> Issue Tracker). This will let users create a ticket for issues.
it allows you to put in reproduction steps, the current version it is happening on etc.
this will stop the issue from being lost in the forum and ill work from this list when developing.
Please provide as much info as possible, get your logs from "Devices -> [your device] -> Logs" as well, as that will provide more info.
basically the more info the better, and if you can put in reproduction steps (step by step, eg, Goto "Recordings Menu", "Select the 'Pending' screen", "Go to bottom of the page", "Click "stop" button", etc) that really helps.
you can still ask for support here, but if you found an actual bug/issue please use the portal to report them.
I have previously had no problem installing and running the NextPVR add-in to XBMC about a year ago. However on 5 or 6 different recent installs on Windows and OpenElec the add-in is enabled but no menu item to run it and the PVR service is greyed out. What on earth am I doing wrong as other add-ons work!!!
Any idea why my e-sata hard drive is having issues? I am changing the location for recorded shows to point to my esata drive but when i try to watch livetv i just get a black screen and it freezes. i have to ctrl alt delete to get out. the drive works and i can save to it normally and watch videos from it outside of nextpvr. any ideas? thanks!
I have a colossus and hd pvr connected to two individual set top boxes. One set top box works flawlessly, the other has a bit of an issue where it takes a few seconds to acquire the signal and display video on the first access of the tuner after an hour or more. If the tuner has been used recently, it seems to display the signal immediately. There is an option on the device setting page to "Wait longer before starting recording capture." If I have this option deselected, I get the video recorded, but the audio gives me problems because the OSD for the tuner shows up, but no audio is being output. Eventually when the video displays, audio is recorded for use in VLC or other related video players, but isn't identified properly on the recording for NPVR or VideoReDo to use the audio stream. If I have it selected, the OSD disappears by the time the recording starts, so NPVR is showing this:
So no video is being recorded, and recording services freezes up and causes major glitches in that no recordings can start beyond this point.
Is there a way to set the length of time for the "wait longer before recording capture," or is that a set length that cannot be adjusted? I'd rather lose 15 seconds of a recording on the second tuner than freeze up the entire system, especially with the Olympics about to start!!!

When I view a list of my PENDING recordings it is usually very long; running over the course of 10 days or so.
On a given day there may be 5-10 recordings scheduled.
It would be very helpful to somehow quickly distinguish one day from another in the listing.
That way at a glance I could see what programs are scheduled for that evening.
For example, if the listings background color would alternate between 2 different colors, changing back and forth as the date changed from one day to another.
i.e. The first day's recordings would have a dark blue background, when the date changed the background would change to a contrasting color, when the date changed it would go back to dark blue again, etc.
Don't know how much effort this would take, but it would be greatly appreciated!
Not sure what's going on here and when it started, but when I try to view live TV off my main NPVR recording server, the video shows for a couple seconds, then goes black. This is not a 'real' problem for me as I typically don't watch live TV, and the recordings work perfectly. I'm just curious as to what is going on...
NPVR 3.1.1
Hauppauge 2250
Win8
Analog channel (via Composite connection)
LAV Decoder
No obvious errors in the log
Video shows for about 2 seconds w/audio
Video goes black, audio continues
Recorded shows playback perfectly.
I'm guessing it's the decoder, but I don't get why the video shows for a few seconds then goes black. If it was decoder, I would have thought the video wouldn't show at all.
OS:
Fresh install of Windows XP Service Pack 3 + all updates
I am using the onboard hdmi for video and sound. I am using the latest NextPVR version. I am using SAF 6.2.2 unlocked. I have a regular antenna getting atsc signals through my pvr card. When I try to play some high quality HD shows, its very choppy. I am no good at messing with my video graphic settings. Is there anyone that has a tweak for the CCC? I have version 2009.0730.58.43017
Don't know where the problem is and I can't figure it out. I live in Australia, use a HD homerun and have XBMC as a front end. Some channels (about 3) are missing the Genres in the EPG when using DVB/ATSC EPG, most others have correct ones even if it is gaps from time to time.
Output from "http://127.0.0.1:8866/service?method=channel.listings.current&sid=foobar" shows that the genres are missing for those channels/program so it is not on the XBMC side and I am pretty sure that it worked quite well in WMC earlier as well as when using Media Portal tv server.
I am stuck for the moment and I have tried most things i can think of (maybe that ain't much thought :confused, any suggestion or hints how I can solved this would be appreciated.
I'm not running a TV tuner at this time - hopefully very soon I'll have the money to pick one up.
NextPVR client ver installed on PC 3.1.1
I was able to install the software on my pc and get the app on my Samsung UN55F8000. However when signing in as devloper it wouldn't allow me to enter the pass as well for some reason but using just the username worked for me to get access to the app enter the IP address etc.
I configured the app on the pc/client side to access the folders where I have content, and rebooted pc.
loaded up the app on the TV and it says connecting to server then loading content (or programs, I forget exact wording) then just hangs.
I'm sure I'm missing something simple but can't figure out what it might be. Any assistance would be appreciated. Yes I forwarded the port in my router and have it set for that particular PC as well (PC is static ip'd on lan side).
OK so I know it's most likely something I've stuff up but I can't see what I have done wrong..... my SSP config attached
<PCH-0006DC43A19F> is the one in the sitting-room running JustRetro
<PCH-0006DC446E05> is the Boss's one running BRVE+
The MVP is the bird-room also running BRVE+
After running it for a while it gets all screwed up with the Boss's one showing JustRetro stuff in the config & the bird-room not remembering the last views it was on when I fire it up next day etc.
