I haven't been overly active with the NextPVR project in some time, so I apologize if this is a ridiculous question. I'm currently running a box with NextPVR 2.3.6 and want to upgrade it to a more recent version. Is it safe to jump right to 3.1.1 or are there any intermediate versions/steps I need to be aware of? Will the installer still preserve settings and everything?
I just ordered an HDHR prime and found a bright house thread about my cable company that state " brighthouse tampa: Content protection is flagged as copy once - so that means recorded content can only be watched on the Media PC it was recorded on, or thru a Windows Media Extender". I have used GBPVR and now NPVR for several years with pvr150 cards. Will I be able to record shows (like AMC, TNT etc) flagged as copy-once on the NPVR server and play them back thru the drive network share with my popcorn hour/WDTV (no mvp client) like I do now for the PVR150 recording.
I have started rewriting the Weather plugin from scratch and it is nearing completion so I figured I would ask if there are any wishlist items for it (and yes, the weather alerts already work.)
Some things I should mention about the default included maps:
The default maps can be downloaded in just about any size so skins can be customized fairly extensively.
Custom zooms will be available from a 25mi/km radius to a 9600mi/km radius.
They are available in layers, so the base maps will be downloaded when you add a location. Only the weather layer will need to be downloaded during updates which will significantly improve update times. For example: This image in a 1920x1080 size is only 35KB to download.

I can get enhanced for radar North America and Europe but that's all I can find so far.
Enhanced satellite images, daily/hourly forecast maps are available for the entire world.
There will be the option to add custom map urls for you to fill in any gaps but that may come after the initial release.
Any one have any tips or decoder suggestions? I have a rather large library of MP4 videos and the sounds plays but I get no picture. Educated guess is that it is a decoder issue?
Attached is a screen cap of my current decoder setup.
Thank you!
I expect this may have been discussed / mentioned before.
Looking at the results of &method=recording.list I can see it's only returning Pending recordings. I can also use &method=recording.recurring.list but there doesn't seem to be a method for Ready recordings. Is that correct?
I apologize if this seems like a silly question....
I am trying to send signal from Dish set-top box to NPVR.
I am using a WINTV HVR950Q. I do NOT have WINTV7 because the install says I need their tech support to approve letting me use it on a netbook?!?!?!
Anyway, when I go into settings, my device DOES show up (it shows up as two devices, I assume one analog one digital).
I have read through the furums and I think I understand that I just need to set it up as "fixed channel, external source"
The problem is,, when i click on "import" it opens up a search box and it wants me to import a file from my computer - this is the part I don't understand.
Additional info, when I do a channel scan I get no results on either of the tuners listed
I attach the logs to help decipher what is causing this recurring issue
As you can see, I had a similar issue previously in that I had a black screen for HD channels. I applied the NShared patch but that only temporarily solved the problem.
Any feedback would be helpful. When I became aware of Next pvr and its potential I thought that it would be too good to be true....I hope I am wrong because when it works it is the jewel in my HTPC!
