I know how to physically set this addon up but it keeps telling me NEXTPVR PVR Client Lost and drops the connection, I had entered my computers local IP as im using this on a separate machine (Raspberry Pi) and I just cant get a connection, anyone familiar with this kind of error? Testing this with Ethernet connections from both machines at this time

Hi, I have NextPVR installed on my central live server, which also hosts my public website, I don't particularly want any service listing my c drive (for security reasons), is there a way to disable this?

If I select a channel in the guide, the popup starts small until I press the side button or another button. Pretty annoying since I can't figure out whats going on. I'm a newb so I've searched and searched to no avail. Any help is appreciated!!

As per title. I've recently upgraded my old VISTA Rig with Win 7.I thought it might work better, but while H264 HD FTA is fine, the feed through the cable box (MPEG2 Video with MPEG1 Audio) is rubbish, green blocky artifacts all over and stuttering like a baboon. Oddly it was fine in VISAT, but it is in the newer Win7 where it doesn't work. What can I do to troubleshoot? Tried a bunch of OTHER decoder (Vid+Audio) combos, none work. Is there any setting in registry to change? Am running SAF 6.21 but was same without it. Am close to upgrading my HD 3400 Vid Card to a 5 or 6 series (fanless) and be done with it but want to make sure that WILL make it better. I've been troubleshooting this for too long! Cheers k.

I have finally solved my firewall problems and got newa working on a PC. However is there any way to get recordings to stream to the blackberry playbook?

Has anyone any experience of one of these? They seem similar to the Raspberry Pi at least in the sense that they're small and have the relevant interfaces (USB, Ethernet, HDMI etc).

I was looking at getting a Raspberry Pi (although mostly for non NextPVR use) and the BeagleBone was flagged up as a similar product on the RS Components site. Just curious.

I'm working on a NPVR client for my LG Smart TV.
My main concern right now is to decide on which streaming method to use.
I've tried a few but no one seem to work all the way.
The most important feature is to be able to seek somewhat accurately in the file. Not necessarily second precision, but say within 15 seconds.

I've experimented using the different options below (and some).

Npvrserver:8866/stream?f=<filename>
- Does a decent job except i doesn't work with all filenames.
Typically filenames including characters åäö (frequenly used in swedish) won't work. (yes, I use url encoding and tried some other character escaping techniques as well)

Npvrserver:8866/live?recording=<oid>
- plays but won't let me seek in file

Npvrserver:8866/public/download.ashx/<oid>,1;
- plays but won't let me seek in file. Also the reported duration time is not correct.

This leaves me with a couple of questions I hope someone knows the answer to.

1: Is there a syntax to use the Npvrserver:8866/stream?-option passing an oid instead of a filename?

2: Is it possibe to retrieve the short filename via NEWA webservices to pass as a parameter and circumvent any local character problem?

3: The filename flaw seems like a bug to me. What are the chances of getting it fixed?

4: Are the any other easy to use, capable of seeking, preferably inbuilt, streaming options worth trying?

Hi, my ignorance of computer-speak compels me to ask you to be patient with me...and use very simple language.

I just tried to download NPVR to my Packard Bell Netbook, which appears to have all the requisite power, capacity and video, etc., needed. I didn't get very far. Upon pressing run installation I almost immediately got an error message. Error opening file for writing: C:\Program Files\NShared.dll. My only options at this point were 'abort', 'retry' or 'ignore', so rather than ignore it, I'm asking for help before I mess up even before I begin.

I'm able to view analog captions just fine from WinTV, and when I record a show, CCExtractor is able to find and extract captions without a problem, but the same is not the case with NextPVR, as neither LiveTV, nor recording LiveTV, nor viewing the recorded file with WinTV works. CCExtractor doesn't find anything with or without the flag --hauppauge. As I am deaf, this makes it very difficult to watch TV. Digital captions work just fine.
