Been playing with NextPVR and it looks pretty good. I would like to get it working right in order to replace BeyondTV. Here is a brief description of my computer:
HP Quad Core Processor
6GB RAM
1TB Hard drive
Hauppauge HD PVR USB box.
ATI Video Card with 1GB RAM (can't remember exact model number)
Firefly remote
USB Uirt
Blu Ray Drive.
For the most part, I have NextPVR working, it records fine, but it will not change channels on my Starchoice Satellite tuner. Nothing comes out of the USBUIRT. Tried to find USBUIRTSend.exe, but cannot find it anywhere. Not even sure if that is the correct way to get it working.
Anyone have a solution for this? I even got the guide updating with Schedules Direct.
I wish npvr had integrated support for adding artwork, such as album artwork, tv show/movie covers etc. I know it possible to do but after playing around with it for a while I gave up as I just felt like I was spinning my gears. Even if it wasnt necessarily integrated into the core of npvr even if it was just a plugin that "just worked" that would be awesome
Today I found my scheduled recording did not record. Then I noticed yesterday's recording did still have the status recording. When I tried to cancel that recording I got an error message telling me the connection is actively refused. This messages is not so nicely handled by next pvr and the .Net runtime pops up. It turns out the recording service was not running anymore.
I must assume it stopped because of an error while I didn't stop it. But there is no sign of an error in the application logs nor in the event log...
I've attached a screenshot showing you the recording (that should have been ended yesterday).
After starting the recording service again. Next PVR returns to function normally. Does anyone know if there are any other places I could look for an error message about what went wrong. Next PVR should have logged this but it didn't
I can't seem to get TV Listings to work with Next Blue Skin. I keep getting an error message, but when I switch to the default skin it works. I've download the
latest Next Blue version. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, I'm having a problem where if I cancel a "recurring season" and then choose to record it again, NPVR thinks that the episodes are already recording and fails to add them to the pending recordings. Note that the first time I record a season it works fine. The error only occurs when I cancel and then choose to record it again. The logfile reads:
First off this feature has to be my most used feature with NextPVR....
For those of you that don't know about it: If you are running SSPlus screensaver & MusicBox4 when the screensaver is displaying you can press the Red button (Alt+R) & it will start playing a random playlist of your default MB4 collection..... if you have visitors staying over it is so easy to explain, they pick it up in seconds.
I am just getting everything ready for a clean install of everything on my new server & one of the things is I want is to get my MB4 collections setup the way I want them right from the get go. I am not a fan of having my "whole music collection" as my default collection, I would much rather have a favorites collection as default (I know it is easy to change the default collection in settings so no problem there)
The problem I have is actually making my Favorites Collection because it won't let me drill down far enough to select the actual albums I want to add. I have all my music stored as in the screenshot attached.
As in this example the highlighted Anthology albums I "don't" want to include in my favorites collection but it doesn't allow me to pick individual albums when they are that far down in the tree. I know I can manually copy the albums I want into a different directory & add that instead but that seems it should be unnecessary & adding all the artists individually into the list makes it very hard to navigate. Any suggestions as to the best way to achieve what I am trying to do??
I sometimes get this crash right when Live TV should show up- didn't see anything obvious in the client log so I cut & paste the windows error report. Both files attached.
BTW: We had about given up on ever watching live TV with NPVR then I noticed the new release this morning and immediately installed. Works great with the Colossus and the analog card with the exception of the above null pointer crash. Thanks for all the hard work!
I'm trying to setup a notebook PC running Windows 7 as an NPVR client. I can view the TV guide and the list of recordings on the client, but when I try to play a recording or watch live TV I get a black screen. For the live TV attempt I get an onscreen error that says (paraphrased) "can't communicate with server." However some communication is being accomplished in order to see the guide and recordings.
I've attached the logs. I should mention that I have two PCHs that run successfully from the same server. I appreciate any suggestions.
Is it possible for you to fix the time zone bug(reported in March) in the next release?
Just to refresh your memory.
I'm in UTC +08.00 timezone.
If I set a manual recurring recording with a start time between midnight 12am to morning 7.59am, end time can be any time(maybe 1 or few hrs later), records weekdays (monday to friday) or weekends (sat & sun), NPVR will set the pending recording to record from Tue to Sat (weekdays) or Sun to Mon (weekends).
Example :
OK setting : start time 8.00am to end time 9.00am
This setting will record from Monday To Friday correctly.
Not OK setting : start time 7.59am to end time 9.00am
This setting will NPVR record from Tuesday To Saturday instead of Monday To Friday.
