I did try to see if this feature could be added as a plugin before posting as a wishlist item...
Email from Jaggy Wrote:The Boss has mentioned (& more than mentioned) that one big failing with GB-PVR & now NextPVR is that it doesn't have a help screen when you are using it..... on asking her what exactly she was thinking it turns out that it is just the same thing as the help screens in SSPlus, the keymapping & yeah I would also find it useful as I often forget the actual keystrokes for a particular not often used feature.
I have held off posting anything on the wishlist thread (up until now) but on thinking about it a "Help" plugin may make more sense & it shouldn't (from my "not able to do it" point of view) be all that much work..... thoughts??
From the replu I got it appears that it is not shouldn't (from my "not able to do it" point of view) be all that much work as it seems there is no way to do it as a plugin...... bugger...
So any chance of a feature (or a way to do it as a plugin) like this??
All my recordings (2) yesterday seem to have failed with the message "no errors, but no data delivered" in the recordings listing.
It seemed to be working previously then I did the following.
I disabled one tuner (3 remaining) as my signal was not good with a splitter attached. TV worked fine.
In the various attempts at setting up 3 recordings, I got responses that either I had no tuners available or recording conflict but listed no items. (I assume it works as gbpvr in that it lists the conflicts and you selected one to delete).
I removed each recording. No pending recordings and still conflicts when I try again.
Selected a different channel and set the recording which then failed as per the above message.
Now I can't seem to watch any channels - rebooted and selected a different decoder and got some channels, reslect original decoder still can watch TV.
Unfortunately due to the restarts the logs have gone - however the record log has the recording and to me it looks like it should have recorded but both .ts files are 0 bytes. Further down the file there are some exceptions - maybe as I was trying other decoders.
I know without the log it's a bit hopeless so I will try and recreate the problem.
I now have a new tv amp/splitter so I can re-enable the other tuner.
I just installed NPVR today and I've been playing around with it trying to get it to work.
My hardware is:
Windows 7 Prof N - 64 bit
4 GB RAM
GeoForce9300/nForce730i
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250
I also run XBMC as my media center so I''m really only looking for NPVR for live tv and maybe the occasional recording
The only weird thing during setup was that it identified my tuner card as a WinTV-7164 in NPVR but since I was able to scan channels and get a video signal I assumed that was OK.
The audio signal is detected as AC3 but I get no sound, even thought the video comes in perfect. I've tried messing with the decoder settings but no luck
What would you guys recommend next? I reached out to hoborg for maybe trying SAF6 codecs, is that a good place to start?
By a mistake I deleted the analog tuner in my Cinergy HTC XS USB tuner, I have tried to remove and reinsert the usb stick but the analog tuner does not reappare. How can I get it back?
Its back the guide has double ups again as in i have to press the arrow right 2 times to get to the next show
Only on Prime tv station
also only for today(Thursday) it comes right tomorrow
Last time I unticked update during live tv or something but this time that doesnt fix it
Currently in closed beta, but has some features I'm interested in above Dropbox. Figured someone here might have a spare invite code they might want to toss my way.
When I go to <MYexternalIP>:8866 from inside my lan, it works - I see the newa login page and the site works. I see an entry in the firewall log and in npvr's web.log file, both saying that the traffic came in from my external IP. All good.
Browsing straight to the local lan IP of the npvr box also works, no password required.
However, when I go to <MYexternalIP>:8866 from outside the lan (ie. I turn wifi off on my phone and just use 3G), I see a message saying "Server error in '/' application. Http error 400 bad request". I see an entry in my firewall log saying the traffic came from from my phone's external IP (ie. an IP on the 2 degrees network) indicating it happily forwarded the traffic to the npvr box, but there is nothing in web.log.
