Hey all i just started evaluating NextPVR and got a couple of problem:

- I configure on pc as the server and installed npvr on another one and configured it as a client PC, when starting live tv viewing it take a long time i can hear about 2 second of audio and after that it says tha the tuner is not available anymore. If i look on the npvr server i can see in the status windows that it's recording the requested channel but after some time the recording stop and i get the error message on the client.

- I would like to have the interface in french but i can't seem to find the appropriate translation file the only file i found are for GBPvr.

- On all my h264 mkv file i got no sound at all, i tried with diffrent decoder configuration but no luck i use Haali media splitter could it be the problem ?

- I'd like to give a try on Popcorn Hour NMT device as extender but can't find somewhere to buy those one on the internet someone have a place where to get one used or refurbished ?

I just purchased a MVP for an old analog TV that I want to use in my garage and I've never used an mvp before, I installed the mvp software from hauppauge and can play music but I can't get npvr on it. I used nmtinstall2 but I don't see a way to access npvr from the mvp and really don't know whats next and the wiki really was no help. I ran the checker and below is the output I get and I don't know what to do next. I'd like to use the mvp to watch live tv when the race is on if I can.

I set up eventghost to change channels and it works great from inside EG and from a command prompt. The command goes like th

"C:\Program Files\EventGhost\EventGhost.exe" -e channel 1 252

From the command prompt I have to quote the path part thanks to the oh-so-brilliant space in the path name supplied by MS.

I have the same path part in NextPVR as the executable in in arguments I have

-e 1 {channel}

The 1 is for tuner 1 and I can use 2-3 (don't have a third tuner yet though).

As I said, from a command prompt it all works perfectly but NPVR doesn't appear to actually execute the command. EG shows when it's received any input and nothing at all shows up in the log window for EG. NRecord.log shows the exact path and arguments as I use in the command promt but without the quotes.

I was thinking perhaps it was the space in the pathname but I can't manually add quotes to the path.

Any ideas if I'm doing the arguments wrong or perhaps the space in the path is really the problem?

I used GBPVR for several years, but haven't used it in about three years. Recently I decided I wanted to resurrect my old machine but hook it up to the STB in our family room instead of a cable drop in a bedroom. So it's a different configuration than I used to have...especially now with digital - which means there's stuff I'm sure I don't understand.

I've been reading a lot on the forums and believe I've properly set up everything I nthink I understand. I've installed all the pre-req. software. I've installed WinTV7 and my card shows up in the device screen, (along with an IPTV entry - which I don't know what to do with). I've been able to set up the EPG, and import the channels to the 150 (can't figure out how to get channels on the IPTV).

I'm using a Hauppauge 150, connected to the STB using the F-type screw connectors on both card and box.

However, I can only get video and audio (in both WinTV 7 and NPVR) using a fixed channel (3). On all other channels is static. Can you tell me how I can get audio and video and use the 150 as the tuner? (I haven't set up the blaster yet)

Just FYI - I have other video drops throughout the house and all can get the basic channels (about 70) on regular old TV so I don't think they are scrambled or are digital. AND my STB won't work on any other drop in the house...so I know there's something different about the main drop and all the rest, but I don't know exactly what. Don't know if that info helps or not. Also, I'm in the US, on a Time-Warner system.

1. In Beyond TV when a program is new, but you missed it and still want to record, it is in a NEW status for maybe a week I'd suppose.

In NPVR it will only record on the first chance for that show, but if I missed the program from Sunday for instance and yet still want it to record since it replays numerous times, I will have to specifically pick it to record separately. In other words it's still a new show, just not the first instance of play.

I'm not sure if this is a flag for that show detail as new until the next episode plays or if this is part of the processing being done when the data is being read into the guide.

2. In the guide data, is it possible to show the shows which are scheduled to be recorded? This way I know that it is in my queue. One problem is in the chance that the show is set as a recurring recording, but not set to record since it is old, or previously recorded. A different color or some other type of notation. In BTV, the show is flagged with a N for new recordings besides the name of the show, and has a slash through it if it was already recorded. In addition, an A will display if it's set to record all, but again if it were previously recorded or scheduled to record later in the week due to conflicts, it would have a slash through it as well. Also, all shows which are NEW and not even scheduled to be recorded, have the word NEW next to the name in RED. It's nice when you're trying to add new shows to your system and can easily pick them out and add them to your Recurring Recordings.

i finally found a way to map bluetooth headphone keys to proper keys on any player you wish..
Needs: IrServerSuite, a bluetooth device with play/ff/rw keys, bluetooth stack s/w with AVRCP profile support...

Connect your device and pair it, and enable stereo audio services, including avrcp.
Open windows media player and play a audio file, check to see if keys work in media player..if they don'twork there it's not likely they will with irss..
install irss, run 'keyboard input relay' program, run translator.exe, click 'new', hit key on bluetooth remote, map to appropriate command for npvr...

the key is to start the 'keyboard input relay' as it will pickup the keystrokes..

i'm using it in XP with Asus 'class 1' bt 2.1 dongle, it has excellent bt-stack/software, and 100 meter range, not 10 meter like most[class 2]..

Now i can pause/play, ff and rw skip with my headphones
It may work for bluetooth remote controls like ps3 one, but not sure..let us know if you try it out..

New problem. I finally talked the wife into replacing her little 22-year-old CRT in the kitchen with a small 720p HD TV. Upgraded the composite connections on the PCH-A100 to HDMI. All works well when the PCH is first booted up. However, if we turn the TV off, then back on again the NPVR menus work okay, but when we play a video (any video) we get sound but no video. If we cycle power on the PCH-A100 again it works fine while the TV is on. I was able to repeat this with a PCH-A110 from another room. I'd blame the new TV/HDMI connection but why would the NPVR menu work then?

Any thoughts on this weirdness?

Hi,

I've encountered a weird problem. The "Videos" part of NPVR plays .avi and .mkv for me perfectly, but when I select a .mp4 I get unusual behaviour.

With a .mp4 file, the video skips forward a few seconds at the beginning (fast forwards at high frame rate) before settling down and then a couple of seconds later the audio starts but out of sync.

Oddly, the same files play fine in Windows Media Player.

Anyone else noticed such behaviour or have any ideas?
