  Norwegian cable channels
Posted by: Reddwarf - 2012-03-28, 09:43 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Here's a tuning file for virtually all cable channels used in Norway, it has proved to be useful.

The recording did not start at the correct time warning
Posted by: jcjefferies - 2012-03-28, 08:57 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

On several occasions I have had recordings which for various reasons did not start at the specified time so the beginning of the programme was missing. NextPVR gave no warning that these were partial recordings unlike it does if you stop a recording early or NRecord restarts.

  Retuning
Posted by: imilne - 2012-03-28, 07:24 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Channel 4HD in the UK (on satellite) has just changed *back* to DVB-S from DVB-S2. I think the modulation and the FEC changed, but everything else remained the same including the channel name and service ID.

I'm not entirely sure what the process was meant to be within NPVR for this sort of (weird) retune, but here's how I stumbled my way through it...

First I confirmed the channel was no longer working. So I changed my tuning file to contain the latest info, then tried a retune (of just that transponder). Nothing was found. Perhaps because NPVR already had the channel as far as it was concerned.

I faffed about for a bit with no luck, then double clicked on the channel itself within the device list. It seemed to know it wasn't DVB-S2 anymore, but hadn't updated anything else. So I changed the other values by hand.

I then moved onto my second tuner and went straight to the edit this time without a tune. This time it thought it was still DVB-S2, but the channel still didn't work after the new settings were given. It still took a rescan (which continued to claim nothing found) to force the DVB-S2 combo boxes to be disabled.

This probably would have been easier if I'd just deleted the channel, but I was assuming I'd lose all my recurring recordings that were set up for it, so decided to against that. It's also probably a slightly weird situation, being a "tweak" to the existing channel, rather than a rename or full transponder move.

  Schedules Direct Setup
Posted by: crossnet - 2012-03-28, 03:46 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (8)

Does anyone have a detailed procedure for setting up Schedules Direct in NPVR?

I have wanted to switch to NPVR for some time now. But, each time I try a new version, I just can't seem to get through the SD EPG setup. Neither the Wiki or Forum have been much help. I don't know if I have a software issue or I'm just not doing something right. This has been a real show stopper for me. Any help would be appreciated.

  Webcam channel?
Posted by: R1Dave - 2012-03-28, 01:29 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

So all you clever chaps out there, does anybody know if it is / could be possible to set up a USB or IP webcam as a device in NPVR so that i could add it as a channel? It seems feasible but there again, I'm no expert.....

  Rescan
Posted by: Graham - 2012-03-28, 12:11 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

I have just done a DVB-T rescan. The list of channels went from 97 to 2. This was not the result that I was aiming for.

But, the rescan had worked. NPVR just didn't want to tell me that it had worked.

It would be good if the channels didn't disappear when doing a rescan on a device.

If I was a really needy type, I might ask for a new column in the scan results saying stuff like, "New channel added", "Channel frequency changed", "Channel not found and deleted".

  Screen DPI
Posted by: jpsa - 2012-03-28, 09:53 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Very minor issue... my partner has poor eyesight, so she has the screen DPI adjusted to "150% normal size" (Right-click desktop, Properties, Settings, Advanced, General). The Update EPG "Status" dialog is then not large enough to show its contents.

  Recording service won't start
Posted by: SoupSatchel - 2012-03-28, 08:22 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Using 2.3.6 and W7 x64, NPVR stopped working yesterday and won't load (NPVR has stopped working go online to check blah message). Recording service won't start giving an Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.

I backed up publc\NPVR, uninstalled NPVR and installed 2.4.3 but I still have the same problem with the totally fresh install. WinTV works so the tuners are working. Bit confused.

Any thoughts on what I should check next?

upgrade to v2.4.3 = "The tuner being used for live tv is no longer available"
Posted by: SFX Group - 2012-03-27, 01:43 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (45)

Hi

Server (XP 64bit), Client Windows 7 64bit, was working perfectly before upgrading to v2.4.3...

Upgraded to v2.4.3 (stopped service, closed tray on both server and client), client can watch recorded shows, however when i browes the TV Guide and choose a channel, the icon on both server and client go red and show which device is in use and shows the correct channel, however it takes about 10 seconds to show the image then shows the message:

"The tuner being used for live tv is no longer available"

The goes back to the TV Guide..... ideas? "which log do you want?

If i record the live show, i can watch it, however i cant watch it directly...
