  Merry xmas
Posted by: sub - 2011-12-24, 04:46 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

Merry Christmas all.

Its already Christmas morning in my timzeone, but I'm sneaking in a quick surf of the net before the kids get up and fill the house with chaos, and discarded packaging and wrapping papper.

  Smoother resume
Posted by: Petrovski - 2011-12-24, 03:22 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

I would like a resumed file to play smoothly from the resume point instead of the current status where the first half second or so from the start of the file is seen and heard before the resume point is reached.

  [GAMES] Special offers by Steam
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2011-12-24, 05:25 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Under normal circumstances i would never recommend anyone platforms like steam, origin and others but this time, i can't behold:

Until 2012-01-01 steam offers a lot of great bargains. Every 24 hours you can find game titles for very low money. I have just bought "Trainz 2012" for only EUR 2,99, 2 days ago "Duke Nukem Forever" for just EUR 4,99.

Merry christmas to all of you and perhaps someone can benefit from the offers through steam. ^^

  Which PowerDVD 11 Filters.
Posted by: Caseyjones - 2011-12-23, 07:03 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I've just installed PowerDVD 11 and know you have to manually register the filters.

But which ones should I register as there appear to be more than 1 in the audio and video directories.

Any pointers greatly appreciated.

  LiveTV copied to client
Posted by: NumberFive - 2011-12-23, 05:38 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (15)

Hi,

Today I've been tidying my home and have been watching shows on the main TV (which is connected to my NPVR server) and on my laptop that I've been moving about (NPVR slave). I've had both on at the same time and try to keep them on the same channel.

A cool feature or plugin would be to have an option to make the client display exactly what the main TV is viewing, and even better would be some mechanism of synchonising the audio.

Smile

  AC Ryan PlayonHD2 media player
Posted by: stustunz - 2011-12-22, 02:33 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

Just brought one for Gym room
While playing with it I figured out that from the FaceBook app(you can use it like a web browser) within the media player you can enter into NEWA and can get into tv guide and actually set up recordings just the same as you can from a PC
You can use a mouse and keyboard with it also
I have tried many media player and this is the first one that you can actually browse the net
Thought others might be interested

  Useful information for HomeTheater PCs
Posted by: ShiningDragon - 2011-12-22, 01:57 AM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

While searching the last weeks for information to get something similar to TrueTheater HD i found a lot of sites who promised "great" things with ffdshow and avisynth. Last but not least: all of 'em seems to be only empty promises. There is nothing comparable to TrueTheater HD available. -.-

Ok, but this isn't his what i wanted to share with you. I found a website with useful informations for configuring and tweaking a htpc with different 3rd party tools:

http://www.homecinema-hd.com/intro_en.html

It is not errorfree, i guess. But this page is a good start to collect some backgroundinformations for setting up a nice htpc experience in combination with NextPVR. Some of the mentioned software (like ReClock) are already covered by our member imilne. He has some handy-dandy-useful tools for using ReClock (ReClockOrNot, RefreshRate) and additionaly a plugin called "AudioAdjust".

At the moment i am playing around with a bunch of settings and the qualitative experience is far better then my english knowledge. Big Grin

Perhaps you want to try out some stuff for yourself or just collect useful informations for 3rd party stuff for our wiki.

EDIT 1:
Instead Media Player Classic Home you should use NextPVR
Instead MadVR you should stay at VMR or EVR, because MadVR isn't supported by NextPVR (afaik)
Instead AutoFrequency you should use RefreshRate from imilne (it works great!)
Instead DVDFabKey you should use AnyDVD (i don't like Fengtao; they steal code from other people and say, it's their own work and for this they want money ... a lot of money).
CoreAVC is fast ... nothing more. An awful picturequality (like all cuda based decoders), i wouldn't use it.

EDIT 2:
User of a SandyBridge CPU could tryout the latest ffdshow releases. There's QuickSync Support from an intel developer for MPEG-2, VC-1 and AVC available. But to be honest: i couldn't find out any difference. It could have something to do, that the developer isn't using the full potential of QuickSync and just copy every frame into the slow ram. CPU usage seems to be identical to the libvcodec, perhaps a bit higher.

EDIT 3:
I think the quicksync support within ffdshow is just a blender. I have enabled quicksync support on an i3-550 (clarkdale) which hasn't any quicksupport capable support and it runs (the ffdshow osd confirms it). So i think, that the ffdshow quicksync support is just a fake.

  Update NewSyleListPlugin Button list dynamically?
Posted by: psycik - 2011-12-22, 12:04 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

So if I have a base set of buttons and them want to add to it, change it, can I force the list to be reloaded?

I've tried a this.uiButtonStrip.NeedsRendering();
And calling the this.GetButtonList();

Anything else I can try?
