  Guide to setup USB-UIRT in NPVR?
Posted by: bumper2007 - 2011-07-21, 08:59 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (3)

hello, I have tried search around but not able to get a complete setup guide for NPVR + USB-UIRT. Could someone kindly post the url or relevant document on doing that?

my hardware config:
1. NPVR 2.1.5
2. HDPVR (2 boxes, plan to have multiple recordings on 1 computer)
3. ordered 1 USB-UIRT, on the way to my place for testing.
4. DISH VIP722K receiver

I read some posts about USBUIRTSEND.exe and its argument for NPVR to change the channel. But I can't find its download place. seems that it is not provided by USB-UIRT package, right?

thanks a lot.

  2.1.5 HDPVR recording don't play.
Posted by: mvallevand - 2011-07-21, 04:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (7)

I just noticed on a few HDPVR recording sometimes NPVR doesn't start with the normal ts headers and I can't play it on the PC, I get a black screen. Going back to it gives this trace. I hadn't noticed this before because the PCH plays it okay.

Code:
System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. at DShowHelper.ConnectPins(IBaseFilter* source, Char* sourcePinName, IBaseFilter* dest, Char* destPinName) at DShowHelper.ConnectFilters(IBaseFilter* pFilterUpstream, IBaseFilter* pFilterDownstream) at Native.PlaybackNative.PlayLiveStream(IntPtr hwndIntPtr, String filename, Int32 serviceType, String& message) at Native.PlaybackNative.PlayVideoFileTS(IntPtr hwndIntPtr, String filename, String& message) at Native.PlaybackNative.PlayVideoFile(IntPtr hwndIntPtr, String filename, String& message) at NextPVR.Players.PlaybackProxyFactory.StartVideoPlaybackProxy(IntPtr window, String filename, String& reason) at NextPVR.Players.VideoPlayer.PlayFiles(List`1 playQueue, Int32 playQueueIndex, String& reason) at NextPVR.Players.VideoPlayer.PlayFile(String filename, String& reason) at NextPVR.ControllerForm.PlayVideoFile(String filename) at NextPVR.Libraries.VideoLibrary.ActivateItem(ListObject selectedObject) at NUtility.Controls.ListRenderers.UiListList.OnKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at NUtility.Controls.UiList.OnKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at NextPVR.Libraries.BaseLibrary.OnKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at NextPVR.Libraries.VideoLibrary.OnKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at NextPVR.ControllerForm.OnKeyDown(Object sender, KeyEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ProcessKeyEventArgs(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ProcessKeyMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmKeyChar(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ScrollableControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Form.WndProc(Message& m) at NextPVR.ControllerForm.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

Looking at the file with a hex editor view attached, I notice a normal header at 0xED and if I remove the bytes before it the file does play.

  2.1.5 No tuner for padding, but found one for recording
Posted by: Nistrod - 2011-07-20, 11:37 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (21)

Edit: title is wrong - its 2.1.5

Busy night last night. All four tuners were recording simultaneously.
At start of pre-padding for fourth show, NPVR started saying (every few seconds)

Code:
Scheduled Recording about to start maybe a candidate for moving to another tuner (different locator than another recording on same device) 2011-07-20 21:08:47.303 [DEBUG][7] Existing: <frequency>767500</frequency><bandwidth>7</bandwidth> 2011-07-20 21:08:47.303 [DEBUG][7] Required: <frequency>662500</frequency><bandwidth>7</bandwidth> 2011-07-20 21:08:47.303 [DEBUG][7] Was allocated to capture source21 2011-07-20 21:08:47.307 [DEBUG][7] Checking if multi-record possible... 2011-07-20 21:08:47.310 [DEBUG][7] Checking if multi-record possible... 2011-07-20 21:08:47.313 [DEBUG][7] Checking if multi-record possible... 2011-07-20 21:08:47.314 [DEBUG][7] Recording not moved. No other available tuner could be found. 2011-07-20 21:08:47.625 [DEBUG][7] Recording due to start pre-padding, but tuner not available

However, 5 minutes later, at the actual show start time, it found one. Nothing had stopped in between. Rather alarmingly, the message
Code:
Frequency has changed, so stopping recording from previous frequency. (Handle 15)
appears in the log. I am not sure which tuner got used, so I cant tell if a show was truncated.

All shows have +5 and +15 padding.

The same problem occurred a few minutes later when another show was scheduled to start.

The problem is that there is a fourth tuner, which was available.

Rather curiously, it never seems to have run the postprocessing on the last show.

Logs and d/b attached.

I have a HVR-1950 and NextPVR see it, but only for ATSC and QAM.

Any way for it to see it for analog cable? Thanks.

  Have a Large CRT TV??
Posted by: Jaggy - 2011-07-20, 10:55 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I just thought I would pass on my experience going from a 33" top of the line 4x3 CRT to a middle of the line full HD (although I don't record full HD stuff) 42" 16x9 TV using the NMT (as that is the only way I hook to our TV's)

I have been holding off for years replacing the main TV (33" CRT) as it was a good size & gave a good picture until a number of months ago when it finally stopped working after measuring the vertical height of the old screen I decided a 37+" would do the job (the old eyes aren't the best these days & having come from 20/20 vision it is hard to take not being able to see/read stuff) but as no one stocks that size now 42" it was...... MAN what a HUGE difference it is to read stuff on, it is really indescribable how much better it is to see/read.....

I would recommend if you are just hanging off replacing the old BIG CRT until it blows up don't wait, start working on the wife & get the old sod replaced as soon as you can afford/convince the Boss (it would make a good second set/back up etc. you know the drill) as the difference is HUGE. (I'm still not convinced the picture is better but seeing it is!)

  Weird mouse problem
Posted by: bgowland - 2011-07-20, 02:48 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

Just thought I'd throw this out there in case anyone has seen something similar.

My wife has a cordless optical mouse (Logitech "Cordless Click! Plus") which a day or two ago (she can't remember exactly) started to 'freeze' after a short time of inactivity.

Example, she'll open her email client, select a message and click 'Reply'. She then types her reply and then goes to move the mouse cursor to click 'Send' but the cursor is frozen on the screen. Clicking either left/right mouse buttons or using the scroll wheel re-instates cursor movement again.

I've been playing with it for a while and it doesn't seem to freeze as long as it's moving - I spent a minute or more just moving the cursor around the screen. Leaving it alone for perhaps just 15-20 seconds, however, causes the freeze.

I've searched Google and found a variety of things but none seem to apply. In most cases, the freeze is either temporary and the cursor will move again after a few seconds without intervention or, alternatively, the freeze is permanent and requires a reboot. Nothing like her problem where a click of a button or scroll of the wheel resolves things.

I've checked the driver and it's the same as she has always had and she hasn't installed any new software or hardware. Very strange - any ideas? Anybody seen anything similar?

Cheers,
Brian

  Subtitles - how can I turn them off
Posted by: psycik - 2011-07-20, 09:41 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

I'm sure pvrx2 had the option to not display subtitles (I had vobsub installed), can this be done in npvr as well?

  Hardware Acceleration, NPVR, Windows XP and Cyberlink decoders.
Posted by: hasso - 2011-07-20, 09:38 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

On my client I've been using PVRX2 and it works fine with hardware acceleration using Cyberlink PowerDVD h264 decoders on Windows XP. So I installed NPVR hoping for a similar result, but the video skips and jerks using the same cyberlink decoder, and the CPU usage is a whole lot higher than with PVRX2. So hardware acceleration isn't working. I've tried to make registry changes as I did with PVRX2, replacing PVRX2 with NPVR and also NextPVR, but that doesn't help either. Any suggestions welcome.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CyberLink\common\cl264dec\PVRX2]

"UICB"=dword:00000000
"UICR"=dword:00000000
"UICON"=dword:00000000
"UISAT"=dword:00000000

(there is no break in cl264dec.. just appears when I did the copy and paste into the post)

  Sort order display for Recordings
Posted by: BrettB - 2011-07-20, 07:57 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (9)

I would like see the ability for skins to display the current sort order on the Recordings listing screen and eliminate the sort order change pop-up.

For the Default skin, the attached icons could be used and displayed on the left side of the status bar.

Edit: Added .zip file with source .png files since the forum converted the individual ones to .jpg.
