Is there a "Search Guide" function hidden in NPVR ?
Posted by: Rory - 2011-05-04, 07:56 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

One of my favourite features of GBPVR was the ability to do an alphabetical search on the EPG listings, I can't seem to find that function in NPVR ? If its not there is there another utility or plugin that will do the same thing ?

  Partial Recording
Posted by: z06racer66 - 2011-05-04, 01:51 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

My last recording of Fringe on 4/29/2011 seems to be magically missing part of the recording. According to the log, it started fine and ended fine. Looking at the .ts file, it was create at 7:58PM and ended at 9:02PM (60 minutes plus padding). However, the actual length is 32 minutes (which the timeline shows correctly as 32 minutes). When watching, I don't think I noticed anything really unusual. There was a slight audio glitch towards the beginning between two commercials but that was about it. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Attached is the log when this was recorded. It starts at 2011-04-29 19:58.

  Current Displayed Song Title Lagging
Posted by: z06racer66 - 2011-05-04, 01:02 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (11)

Has anyone else noticed that the title of the current music title playing lags by up to a minute? The titlebar of the app (when not in full screen mode) is pretty much instant, but the one displayed on the bottom of the screen isn't too speedy on updating.

  My Minor Wishlist For NPVR
Posted by: z06racer66 - 2011-05-04, 12:48 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

Here are a some really minor items that I would like to see fixed/added in nPVR:
1) Center the settings window over the main window. It gets annoying at times when the settings window pops up on a different monitor.

2) For us keyboard junkies, fix the tab order in the settings window.

3) Add a restore window option in the context menu to take us out of full screen.

4) Use the system time format for displaying the time in the main screen, though maybe this can be done with the skin.

  Overscan on menus -
Posted by: Rory - 2011-05-03, 11:31 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

I have upgraded from GB-PVR. I have a 16 x 9 Samsung CRT TV which connects to my Popcorn Hour via HDMI. I have tried every combination of settings on the "General" settings tab, but nothing affects the all-round overscan which means on the home screen the date is cut off as is the D of DVD and the E of Live. More annoyingly, it is very hard to read the titles of recordings. I am pretty sure I have the MAC address correct, and connect via the NPVR menu (rather than via Network Browser). I cannot change the picture size of the TV (to 4:3 for instance), the TV won't allow me to. I have done a clean install using NMTInstall.exe. Recordings, Audio, and Live TV all work fine. The only other anomaly is it says in Red "Warning: the DirectX runtime is not available on this machine, using software rendering instead" even though I tried to install from the microsoft dxwebsetup link in the sticky/Wiki and it says "already installed"
any ideas, before I zip the logs ?

Time to build a new system with two WinTV-HVR-1600's
Posted by: reefboy - 2011-05-03, 06:56 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

First of all props to Sub for such a great program!!!

I've been using GBPVR with two PVR 150's for the last 6+ years. It is time switch to recording ATSC HD tv. I would like to have two tuners and based on my quick searches will most likely use the WinTV-HVR-1600 unless others have a better / cheaper tuner card to recommend. Since I'm in the early research stage is there any concern or limitations recording two HD channels at one time with two WinTV-HVR-1600's? Will I be able to use comskip still? What is a minimum CPU I should be using? any recomendation for a budget and energy efficient mobo and CPU? I would like to utilize a HTPC case to be placed with my other A/V equipment. Any input would be appreciated.

  Mouse pointer visible
Posted by: Clanky - 2011-05-02, 07:40 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

I've been playing with my setup as I've just got a plasma hd tv.
I've noticed that the mouse pointer is visible on playback. I can move it off screen but as soon as I stop the playback its visible again smack in the centre of the screen, it doesn't disappear after a few seconds.

There must be something I've missed but I haven't found it yet Smile

  Orange Internet (UK)
Posted by: bgowland - 2011-05-02, 04:27 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

According to to a nice lady called Susan at the Orange call centre, the whole of their UK mobile data network has gone pear-shaped. Service may resume later today but likely to be tomorrow before it's fixed properly.

Just thought I'd mention it on the slight chance it may be of interest to any UK Orange subscribers.

Cheers,
Brian

Live TV from Hauppauge HVR-1600 currently produces black screen
Posted by: phillby - 2011-05-02, 03:41 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

Hello,

Yesterday I was using a HVR-1600 along with a Dvico FusionHDTV7 RT Gold w/NPVR 1.5.3. Both worked properly over QAM. However, I removed the Dvico and installed a HVR-2250 and ran NPVR. The HVR-2250 works fine over QAM but the HVR-1600 gets a completely black screen w/no sound and 0-byte sized recordings.

The 1600 appears in the device list and is enabled. I have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers and have updated NPVR to 2.0.3. I still get a black screen. Enclosed are the logs.
