  NMT screen resolution with NMT
Posted by: srhutch - 2011-04-30, 02:18 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

The screen resolution for my NMT using a CRT is way out. With GBPVR you altered config.xml

What do you change on nPVR to get the resolution right?

  Black video screen
Posted by: g2c - 2011-04-30, 01:02 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Today i managed to install and scan to fill channels: 7 videos and 30 radios. When i start npvr, press the arrow till Live TV, Right click and choose Channels, then choose any, i always have ...please wait... for 5 seconds then a black screen. Occasionally a grey or green barre will appear at the bottom.

When a video channel is selected, right clicking opens a dialog including audio stream and subtitle stream.
When on a radio channel, right clicking open a dialog w/o these options

Thanks in advance for your help

ps Playing AVIs photos and music seem ok

No Tuner Available for this Recording - NEWA Web Log shows error?
Posted by: jksmurf - 2011-04-30, 11:37 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (2)

Hi UJB,

Not sure if this is an NPVR or NEWA autorecord issue.

I have an Autorecord set for <Search id="Super Rugby (L)">

For some reason, one of these didn't seem to set the autorecord.
So I tried to set it manually and was told "No Tuner Available for this Recording" (This is my analog tuner)

The NEWA log shows an "Epgevent was previously scheduled" entry for all BUT the program I wish to get. So NEWA is apparently not autorecording it, but somehow NPVR has reserved the tuner? (The AFV Recording Tuner is the Digital Tuner so not related).

  I wish for NextPVR to:
Posted by: steeb - 2011-04-29, 11:18 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (6)

Dear all,

(hey why not? Big Grin )

this is my wish list:

1) That a NextPVR install would prompt a user if they had not installed the 'pre-requisite' software components.

2) That an XP server did NOT need a registry hack to move the DB to an accesible place for a client to pick it up.

3) That NextPVR was still renamed to something else to give it a rebirth.

4) That people fully understood the true power of NextPVR (and in addition on the Quiet Client front with the PCH).

Hmmmmm that may do for me, sorry to be so loud Big Grin

5) EDIT (actually not) I would like to see a complete re-working of the forum with many many things laid out better than they are now Big Grin )

cheers

  Bad filename failed recordings
Posted by: pds - 2011-04-29, 12:17 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

This is my first post, and I must say that the NPVR program is generally excellent compared to any other software I have tried.

My setup is running XP SP3 and has both a Freesat and a Freeview tuner.

However, I have discovered an issue with recording programs with '..' (2 fullstops) at the end of the title. The recording status indicates that they are recording ok, but when complete the entries vanish without a trace, no error is reported.

The directory is created correctly, but the file is never created within. The logs mention that the file name is invalid and it still contains the '..' within it.

Program titles with '...' (3 fullstops) work fine, the file name is stripped of all the fullstops.

The information in the XML guide file does actually have 3 fullstops, but when NPVR imports it, it is stripping a fullstop from the end.

This problem only seems to affect XML guide parsing, as guide data pulled in from the built in DVB EPG collector works fine.

Hotswap your sata drive like a usb drive
Posted by: pBS - 2011-04-29, 08:21 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (2)

Here's a very useful little util i found to use to make sata drives really hot-swappable.
It simply creates a 'safely remove hardware' icon for removable sata drives...
it helps in detection of hot inserted drives, and flushing data buffers and preparing for removal..
You use it just like the 'safely remove hardware' icon for usb drives..[it looks just like it]
All sata controllers are supposed to support hot-swap on all ports, as it's part of the sata-1 spec. and so far i haven't found any it wouldn't work on..

So now you can get an esata drive enclosure and pop that drive in there and enjoy removability without losing any speed. Big Grin
Works with win7 down to win2k..

  Prerequisite software
Posted by: g2c - 2011-04-28, 04:48 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (25)

Hello,

I just installed NPVR and at the end of the process it said that it went fine, yet when I run it, it does not seem to offer the ability to do much (scan stations to start with)

In the Quick Start giude I can see that I should also install the minimum software requirement

My question is how should I know if my system already has this software installed:confused:?

Thanks in advance for your time,
g2c

  Conflict with 2 capture cards
Posted by: Werdna - 2011-04-28, 03:43 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

I have 2 Kworld capture cards that were working fine for getting ATSC digital over the air, but have run into a conflict where one will not start. Get error when scanning for channels or attempting to watch TV and other device is in use "unable to start device Device failed to start"

These are Kworld USB 435Q and 435Q V2 (packaging is the same, I had no idea I was getting 2 different cards, but anyway).

The reason I'm thinking it's a NPVR issue and not driver/device issue is because NPVR will detect and use each individually just fine. But when I have both plugged in, only the earlier model (2870) can be used, the V2 2875 fails to start.

DVB-T TV1 No Sound Mt. Kau Kau
Posted by: hasso - 2011-04-28, 10:21 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

A few days ago the sound stopped from TV1... still doesn't work. I've had to change it to TV1 (Audio 2) to get sound, but that seems to be in mono only. Anyone else experience this in Wellington?
