Systray Notifications
Posted by: mvallevand - 2011-03-30, 04:41 AM - Forum: UbuStream, Web Radio and Universe - Replies (2)

Is anyone interested in having Web Radio icon in their systray with Now Playing text in the next WebRadio release? I was playing around and added this a few weeks ago and I like it, but I know some people don't like things in their tray and I don't want to bother making it configurable since there are so few users (Shoutcast broke a couple of days ago and no one has noticed so far)

The balloon comes up with track changes for 5 seconds and if you hover over it you also can get the text at any time.

Hauppauge MCE Remote (kit) works great on GBPVR but a couple questions please
Posted by: treble - 2011-03-30, 04:30 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hiya

I grabbed one of the Hauppage MCE kit remotes after "discovering" these a few days ago. Doh  It's got 45 buttons. It looks different to the pics that can be found here or on the wiki but I think that is purely cosmetic.

It works 95% good out of the box, however a couple things I'd like to know about if anyone else can shed some light for me. There are several buttons which either don't do anything or I need to do something to make them work.

PC is Vista Prem with MCE installed on it. MCE comes bundled. Card is Hauppauge Nova-T 500 MCE.

When PC boots GBPVR auto runs in full screen. In this mode the LiveTV button does nothing.

If GBPVR is not running or in full screen the Live TV button starts up MCE. The same thing for the Menu button. There are 2 other buttons next to these but I don't know what they are supposed to do.

I think that the LiveTV button and the Menu button are just mapped to a keyboard stroke. When I look in the ir*****.ini file from the Hauppauge IR software, I can see the GB-PVR stuff and it looks like the LiveTV button produces an F2 keyboard stroke.

So my questions:
Can someone please tell me if this is correct AND can you tell me how I can asign something to F2. Like launch GBPVR (PVRX2) ??

When GBPVR is not running or not in full screen mode the LiveTV button starts MCE. How can I change this so that PVRX2 is launched instead?

Cheers
Treb

Blank video and no sound when trying to play recordings
Posted by: darag2358 - 2011-03-30, 02:55 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (5)

Just getting this all set up today. Got the client and server both installed successfully on windows xp. I've been trying different codecs and finally got ts files to play back decently outside of npvr.

However I am unable to play back recordings. I get a blank screen and no sound. If I map the recordings directory and play it under the Videos menu, it plays fine. Do I need to open up some ports on the network?

Logs from the client attached. Thanks as always.

  SchedulesDirect XML
Posted by: mvallevand - 2011-03-30, 01:32 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (4)

Sub, I am thinking of writing a program to post-process XMLTV files for genre specific information and was wondering how schedulesdirect.xml is created. I see in CHANNEL in my epg_mapping field

<source>XMLTV</source>
<file>C:\epg\analog.xml</file>

What will I see for SD and is this linked at all to the schedulesdirect.xml file? Finally if SD is called multiple times for multiple tuners will there be multiple schedulesdirect.xml files with a different name?

Thanks.

  Having trouble setting up client
Posted by: darag2358 - 2011-03-29, 08:55 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (22)

Finally decided to move over from GBPVR. Using latest NPVR 2.03. Got the server set up successfully but I'm getting an error on the client machine. I can confirm that the server and directory names are correct and that I can access the network shares on the client computer.

I'd post logs, but I don't know where they are located on NPVR. Attached is the actual error. I get this when I go to Recordings or the Guide. Thanks for the help.

  XBMC and NPVR
Posted by: NumberFive - 2011-03-29, 04:14 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

This isn't really a support question, but I was wondering if anyone has experience of using XBMC and NPVR on the same machine. Is it a neat solution, or a bit of a hack job?

I've seen several friends media centres running on XBMC, but of course they have no tuners. NPVR is in my mind the best PVR software, but there is a lot to be said for XBMC as a media file viewer.

Ideally, I'd like something like an XBMC button on the NPVR main menu, and an NPVR button on the XBMC menu, but I imagine this'd be a challenge to implement! Big Grin

Pause not working in music player
Posted by: mikeh49 - 2011-03-29, 03:56 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - No Replies

In NPVR 2.0.3, the PAUSE function (ctrl-Q) doesn't appear to work correctly; in fact it seems to give the same event code as STOP (ctrl-S). The attached log shows the following sequences of keys:

1.
play-pause-play-stop
2.
play-pause-play-stop
3.
play-pause-pause-play-stop
In all cases, the keyboard was used with:

Play=ctrl-P
Pause=ctrl-Q
Stop=ctrl-S

  Creating a Windows service
Posted by: McBainUK - 2011-03-29, 01:11 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (8)

I'd like to investigate creating a Windows service that can communicate (both ways) with a NPVR plugin.

Anyone got any hints and/or sample code? Smile

  Recorded Playback Scrambled/Distorted
Posted by: BTJustice - 2011-03-29, 06:49 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I am not sure what has happened. I have not changed anything on my computer and no new updates have been installed. I run Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

It seems like playback of recordings no longer works and is distorted. Live TV works fine.

If I switch from VMR9 Custom to Overlay, the recordings play. I have always used VMR9 so I am not sure what is going on. Attached are my logs. Thanks!

I have tried different video decoders but that doesn't help.
