Avermedia A188 remote config for NPVR?
Posted by: chalkster99 - 2011-03-26, 02:49 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hi, any one had a play with using a custom config for Avermedia remote for NPVR.
Looks like RemoteMapping.xml holds the details for all mappings for the avermedia remote ..
the WMC stuff is installed but doesnt do the right things for PC control required for NPVR .. I had all this remote stuff sorted with my Dvico dual 4 remote in XP, but in Win7 its a total dog of a card, and Ive gone for the Avermedia (which seems fine so far) .. TIA

  Tearing?
Posted by: wodger - 2011-03-25, 10:10 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (31)

Just getting to know npvr for the first time this week, on the system in my sig. I am using Nvidia's driver from 11/01/2010 ver. 8.17.11.9621 on the graphics card, Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder, "EVR" for video renderer and "Default (Recommended)" for audio renderer.

When there is a relatively static picture with only a little bit of movement on the screen, eg. a full length shot of a person and their hand moves up the screen, the object that is moving breaks up with horizontal lines. Is this what "tearing" is to any degree?

That effect is not severe, and the picture is generally quite watchable but I never saw this on my old XP/GBPVR/9600GT rig, and overall it's not as good.

When there is alot of action it seems to be worse. Does anyone have any advice?

Cheers.

  Analog with HVR-1100 + DX
Posted by: steeb - 2011-03-25, 01:24 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (18)

Greetings all,

while messing about with my 'soon to be' NextPVR server I chucked in an old Hauppauge HVR-1100 I had in a box of bits. I can't seem to get the analog input side of things to work. 'Unable to communicate with device message'. On XP. NextPVR 2.0.3 with patches.

Set to composite in WinTV7 getting video no problem.

Composite in with NextPVR message as above. I can't see that not having set a blaster yet or more than 1 channel should stop this working?

Logs attached and even though it showed in devices straight off filtercheck and analog.xml in case I messed with something .......

I am also getting the DirectX runtime not available error which I am now finding very bizzarre. This happened when I installed NextPVR on my current GB-PVR server. I put it down to bad luck and some strange kind of hardware issue somewhere. I wasn't too bothered as had always planned to build a new server. But to get this again with a clean O/S install on a completely different system (and the DX runtimes as necessary) is really perplexing. On both machines Dxdiag gives no indications of any problems AT ALL

cheers

steeb

nPVR - Sound with no video
Posted by: TiredJazmyn - 2011-03-24, 10:28 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Hey all,

very new to this sorta stuff. I am having trouble with nVPR and have viewed quite alot of threads about problems with no video but sound. I have downloaded all files required as stated in the Survival guide. I have also tried changing the Renderer and Decoders but to no avail. I have also tried using ffdshow before i reformatted the laptop. I have updated my laptop again with all microsoft updates etc and tried again. This time without ffdshow and all stated downloads went on successfully I believe.

I have tried recording a segment of a number of shows and tried to plat back in nPVR which doesn't show video, although if I play the files in VLC I get audio and visual. I have read my logs and I see "Error initialising Direct 3D". I'm hoping with my attached logs someone can come to my rescue, as I want it to be operating perfectly by the 3rd of April so I can watch and record the touring cars. I'm recording so I can send to someone who is out of the country and wont be able to see the races unless I ship them out.

I'm running on a Packard Bell with windows 7 starter with service pack 1, if there is anything else you need just get back in touch.

Thanks for the help, and I look forward to getting the full potential out of this system.

  NEWA Web Server with AdvancedRules
Posted by: mvallevand - 2011-03-24, 09:50 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (4)

UJB, further to this post http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post407635 web services doesn't appear to like titles with quotes because of this code.

string rules = "title like '" + programme.Title + "%'";

Should I escape titles beforehand and if so which call use AdvancedRules?

  Guide2 Alignment
Posted by: kirschey - 2011-03-24, 06:24 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (8)

Hi All,

I am not sure exactly how to work with asp dynamic files to make changes to the core code, so I am posting this here. Any tips how to modify the code would be useful.

In my browsers, the alignment is off between the timeline and the show information.

I fixed the issue in percentages, it just needs to be updated where the code is fed from:

Code:
<div id="_ctl0_ContentPlaceHolder1_TIMELINE_HEADER"> <div id="_ctl0_ContentPlaceHolder1_forcedScrollbar"> <div class="timeSlot" style="width:6.9%;"> <div class="timeSlot" style="margin-left: 6.9%; width:22.8%;"> <div class="timeSlot" style="margin-left: 29.68%; width:22.8%;"> <div class="timeSlot" style="margin-left: 52.35%; width:22.8%;"> <div class="timeSlot" style="margin-left: 75.1%; width:24.9%;"> </div> </div>

In addition, I found a missing piece of JS from the link manage2.aspx source. The JS is:

Code:
onclick="EditPop5(this.href,'Add1');return false;"

...missing from the link at the bottom below.

Code:
<li class="AspNet-TreeView-Parent"> <span class="AspNet-TreeView-Collapse" onclick="ExpandCollapse__AspNetTreeView(this)">&nbsp;</span> <span class="AspNet-TreeView-ClickableNonLink" onclick="ExpandCollapse__AspNetTreeView(this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('span')[0])"> Recurring Recording</span> <ul class="AspNet-TreeView-Show"> <li class="AspNet-TreeView-Leaf"> <span class="AspNet-TreeView-NonLink"> <span class="listing">Genre: Recurring Recording</span> </span> </li> <li class="AspNet-TreeView-Parent"> <span class="AspNet-TreeView-Collapse" onclick="ExpandCollapse__AspNetTreeView(this)">&nbsp;</span> <span class="AspNet-TreeView-ClickableNonLink" onclick="ExpandCollapse__AspNetTreeView(this.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('span')[0])"> </span> <ul> <li class="AspNet-TreeView-Leaf"> <input id="_ctl0_ContentPlaceHolder1_TreeView1n2CheckBox" type="checkbox" name="_ctl0:ContentPlaceHolder1:TreeView1n2CheckBox"> <label for="_ctl0_ContentPlaceHolder1_TreeView1n2CheckBox"> <a href="Details2.aspx?id=R50&rid=R50"> <span class="channelName">NY1</span>

  NEWA same show back-to-back bug?
Posted by: b00sfuk - 2011-03-24, 04:43 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (4)

Found what I think is a bug, not key but thought I should report. Can add any logs etc. if required.
If you have different back-to-back episodes of the same show (same channel) then setting the first one to record also highlights the second one. However the second one is not scheduled to record in NPVR. So it is impossible to manually set the second to record as you only then get the option to cancel it (which if you do also cancels the first). So there is a loop where the only way to record both episodes is to setup a recurring recording.

  client can't playback recordings
Posted by: donschjr - 2011-03-24, 03:19 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (16)

I have npvr running on my desktop now and have installed it on my laptop. I used the laptop previously with gbpvr as a client to play back recordings but I can't seem to get it to work with npvr. When I try to play back a recording I get no audio or video and the timeline starts and ends with zero.
