NPVR will not read my AnalogDevices.xml file
Posted by: bbanks69 - 2011-03-24, 07:18 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

I installed Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library: Microsoft DirectX Runtime:Microsoft .NET 2.0 runtime:

I then installed NPVR, and opened the program and opened settings, and I get no devices listed at all. I have edited the analogdevices.xml file, gut nothing shows up in the devices list, it is blank. I feel like the program is not reading my *.xml file since nothing shows up. can any one help me with this. Thanks Bill

New "Simple" theme for Enhanced Web Admin
Posted by: kirschey - 2011-03-24, 05:16 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (3)

I created a theme called Simple for the NEWA (Next PVR Enhanced Web Admin). I used ProtoType as the base of the theme.

Decompress the attached theme in: C:\Users\Public\NPVR\web\themes2

Notes:
1.Changed the fav icon to the N.
2.Made the colors simple and the lines clean.
3.Fixed a crazy bug in the search results positioning.
4.Updated the linked icons.

To Do:
1. Fix the alignment between: _ctl0_ContentPlaceHolder1_TIMELINE_HEADER and _ctl0_ContentPlaceHolder1_CONTENTS

!!!!Did not change picture or music libraries because I don't have those enabled on my box.
!!Did not clean up the redundant CSS. Maybe in the future.
!Did not modify any of the JS.

Please share your thoughts.

  Wishlist list
Posted by: zehd - 2011-03-24, 03:34 AM - Forum: NPVR Documentation - Replies (7)

Originally I was going to suggest keeping a wishlist list on the wiki where one could peruse to see if a wish been asked..

perhaps there could be a mark indicating the likelihood of the wish being implemented.

and also a mark that the wish was fulfilled...

And then I thought... would it be possible if mods (beat me if it's too much work) delete wish requests from the forum... so only outstanding wish requests exist..

I don't know... just thinking out loud...

  Sound, Click, something..
Posted by: zehd - 2011-03-24, 03:25 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

Kudos to the Beta team for nPVR... this is just smashing!!!

Well I looked in a variety of places and searched in several languages... and I couldn't find out how to turn on the sound that clicks with every keyboard/remote click

Now I know that there's one shipping with nPVR (sounds suspiciously similar to previous versions of GB-PVR and "Microsoft Windows" :p) and somehow I remember discussion as to modifying the config.xml for nPVR (that's how to enable in GB-PVR)

Does it exist? and if not... Can it exist?

Coherent/compiled list of or suggestion for supported TV cards?
Posted by: treble - 2011-03-24, 02:51 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (4)

Hi

I was wondering if there is a list of TV cards that are known to work with NPVR?

I have GBPVR now and am running a haupauge Wintv Nova T 500 MCE Dual DVB-T Tuner - PAL. I have had this for a while and it is a good card. There is no remote available for this card so I use a wireless mouse and keyboard to interface.

I want to move to NPVR.

I need to add another dual tuner DVB-T - PAL card but I would like something with a remote so other people in my house can use the TV. They can deal with a remote but not any PC interaction. It's too hard for them as a PC connected to a big screen is not a TV.

So question is what dual DVB-T tuner cards are supported by NPVR that have a remote? I like the hauppauge cards so if someone could recommend one they are using that is PAL that would be great. Otherwise what other cards are there?

Does anyone use a Compro USA card? I had one of these in the begining but it was not supported by GBPVR and I gave it away. Are they supported now and if so which one?

I don't need analogue in any flavour only DVB-T.
Thanks
Treb

Do you use a Hauppauge 2200 and a composite input?
Posted by: Granddad - 2011-03-23, 10:18 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Because my Hauppauge PCI 250 decide to pack up on me I have bought a Hauppauge 2200 for the composite input from my Virginmedia cable box, but I can not get it to work.

I don't think it's the usual type of NPVR configuration problem as the device is recognised and I can set it up and I can get the S-video input to work (but with awful picture, because of the composite to s-video converted that I use)

With the composite feed, which I know is good, I can only record a blue screen, using either of the two tuners. Have I got a duff card? I'm starting to think I have.

Has anyone had any problems with a similar set up?

  Firewall Settings
Posted by: kirschey - 2011-03-22, 08:06 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (7)

2 Things.

1. Can someone help with the firewall settings for my Windows 7 pro machine? I configured it too allow all traffic through npvr and all apps on 8080 and 8866, but outside the localhost EWA was blocked. I opened the firewall and everything was good. What ports and apps/services do I need to allow for this to work?

2. Would anyone mind if I created a theme for NEWA?

Thanks

Can't record live TV anymore in nPVR? (buffer is lost)
Posted by: sgilani - 2011-03-22, 03:08 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (9)

Maybe this is a "feature" of nPVR, but it seems that when you're watching live TV and you decide that you want to record the show and hit record, it knocks you out and then re-starts the recording, and you lose anything that has been seen thus far.

Even if you rewind to the beginning of the show and then hit record, it still discards the buffer and starts over. (I've set the SlipSeconds registry key to something sufficiently high to keep the whole show on disk)

is this something that just won't work in nPVR anymore?

  Translations for nPVR and GBPVR
Posted by: MixMan - 2011-03-22, 01:28 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (19)

I have all GBPVR translations in an Excel sheet.
Now I have imported the translations into the Hello World Web Projects, Language function.
I can generate language files for nPVR and GBPVR in 50 languages.
Online editing of translations is implemented, but I will use Excel to update database table for some time.

I have plans to make a download function for nPVR that will download all language files.

Anyone interested to test nPVR translations?

  2.0.3 Problem with status
Posted by: Nistrod - 2011-03-22, 08:37 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (10)

Something weird is happening....

I have attached a screenshot of the System plugin. This shows three shows being recorded.

ABC2 is on a different frequency to SBS2, but is shown on the same tuner.
SBS HD is on the same frequency as SBS2, but is shown recording on a separate tuner.

The logs say The Moon was recorded on the tuner WinFast DTV 2000 DS, and dont seem to state what tuner is used for the other two shows.

I have also attached a screenshot of the Status screen. This shows the same shows, but on different tuners.

I have also attached the logs. All shows appear to have recorded correctly (subject to pre-padding issues)

Ummm, whats going on?
