While recording a show I began to watch. About three minutes in the timer to show where I was went to 0:00 and the total time went to 0:00 too. I stopped watching. Started again and began to fast forward to where I left off. Same thing. It was about 3:00 min in.
I've been away from the GBPVR community for a long time. Can someone update me with regard to the current status of nPVR and MVP functionality? More specifically, can we schedule and playback analog recordings using the mediaMVP? I did some quick searches and thought I read analog mpeg? video playback would not likely be supported, but I also thought I seen some discussion about this actually working?
As I am new, experimenting and learning. I have had significant problems getting screens to show up, render cleanly in Chrome. Even with IE Tab plugin installed in Chrome -- things still don't work correctly. For instance, I can click on a EPG entry in the TV Guide, but the Record option is not there. IE8, I have no such issues.
In short...it would be fantastic if I didn't need IE just for EWA -- and if it worked in Chrome (even with IE Tab would be fine), as I use that browser 98% of the time Just an RFE....thanks and appreciate any guidance or comments.
I have a couple of small issues with the default guide, one has been there since the previous version of NPVR (before that I was on gbpvr), the other has aed since V2:
The one I've always had missing trailing text on the channel names in the guide: see untitled.jpg
The other is when I select a tv show the "watch" button appears in the program art.: see watch.jpg
First of all I want to thank all GBPVR and NextPVR collaborators and developers, last two years I have been using GBPVR daily.
The second I want to apologize my bad english.
I read same posts about the same problem, but there is not a solution, or I am not able to find it.
I have a Hauppauge Wintv-novat-500 with a Hauppauge 45 buttons remote. It has been working fine in GBPVR.
I am installing, with the same hardware, nPVR and the remote responses very slowly. The first key pressed is executed inmediatly, but the second, third... are executed with 3 o 4 seconds delay.
I modified increasing and decreasing the repeatdelay parameter in iremote.ini, but it has any effect.
One more thing, for every key pressed there are two movements executed, that is, I press only one time the down button in the menu and the cursor moves only once inmediatly down, and after 3 seconds moves another time without pressing any key.
I'm using N-PVR 2.0.3 on XP in full screen on a 1080 TV.
When I pause, the programme title and summary info are displayed on the bottom quarter of the screen for exactly 2 minutes. I would like a way to return to the full paused picture without waiting for the 2 minutes to expire.
I can't find a keyboard or remote control short-cut to do it, and I can't find a variable in the config file to reduce the default time this info stays on the screen.
Sub, in looking into this problem http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post407160 which I thought was NEWA I think i found that you can't create recurring recordings without EPG data even with NPVR. Is that correct?
As I am getting totally fed up with having "heated discussions" with the boss about which shows were recorded by/for which of us & as the Recordings setup leaves a HUGE amount to be desired when there is more than one user using the system & there are no alternative plugins that are any better in this respect I have been trying to figure out how I can use the videos screen for my personal recordings.
I have been trying to work out how it uses/displays metadata in videos & this is what I have observed...
1. If I have an overview for a recording in \NPVR\Media\Shows it displays this when I select the directory.....Brilliant & just what I want......but it also displays the "overview" when I select any of the episodes & NOT it's own hidden metadata ...This is totally NOT what is wanted!!
2. I have tried <StoreSeparateMetadataXml>true</StoreSeparateMetadataXml> which I though was there so I could move Recordings around without having to worry about what sort of media they end up on & they should still display the metadata no matter where they end up....doesn't work for me as it doesn't display any metadata if this file exists but if I rename it to xxxxx.xml.old they it starts displaying the hidden metadata??
3. Damn I'm sure there were other things but my brain has gone on hold again
The wife would like the shuffle button back in the video library. She used to shuffle a folder till she got a show she liked at the top, and then hit play all before going to bed.
Now we just do play-all so I keep seeing the same 1st show over and over.
I sometimes re-name the files to mix it up a bit, but the shuffle button back would be great.
Instead of the present scan system which adds new channels, but doesn't purge ones that are no longer broadcasting (e.g. "Channel One" in the UK), I'd like to see a "rescan" option that will purge the EPG of channels that don't broadcast anymore.
